An awful awful video has been making the Internet rounds that shows a glib Marine throwing a puppy off a rocky cliff.
Just writing that is making us cry.
Maj. Chris Perrine of the Marine Corps Base Hawaii says it appears the man is based with a unit in the islands.
Marine officials are calling the YouTube video "shocking and deplorable" and say it violates "the high standard we expect of every Marine."
What is SO disgusting is that this "person" would do this to a poor puppy and also videotape it and spread that awful energy all over the world.
He will get his!
And hopefully this investigation will result in a discharge against him and criminal case as well.

Re: Servicemembers Wife – I know many servicemen who've served in the first Gulf War done multiple tours in Vietnam (my father-in-law one of them) and mutiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. NONE of them show such disregard for life. My sweet father-in-law, who saw his friends blown up in front of him; and his best friend stabbed to death in the bunk right right above him, is a consummate animal lover. What this Marine did was wrong and a disgrace to the uniform. He needs to be discharged, someone like that shouldn't be representing our country. Yes, the Marines should get him psychological help, but he shouldn't be allowed to fight for us anymore.

It doesn't really matter if the puppy was dead or alive. The fact of the matter is, that marine treated a creature of the Earth in an absolutely deplorable way. To vindicate him by saying that the puppy was dead to begin with would be like vindicating someone who threw their already dead grandmother off a cliff. Either way, it is a disgusting act. Just because something can't talk doesn't make its life any less valuable than a human's. People really need to smarten up. And if it is a hoax, I really hope people don't decide to reenact it with the real thing.

I am a huge dog lover and the fact that someone could do this is appauling. I really wish there were harsher punishments for animal abuse in all states. I also hope that this disgusting human being will be investigated….get a dishonorable discharge and face criminal charges. Cruelty to animals is the lowest abuse of power and this video, real or fake, reinforces everything people fear our soldiers have become in Iraq. Following human rights violations and PR debacles the military needs to take a strong stand against this type of behavior out of one of their own. Show the US people that their leadership in Iraq is accountable, trustworthy and will hold our soldiers to the higest standard in the world. Not acting strongly on this evidence would only reinforce the idea that US soldiers in the Middle East have Carte Blanche and our leadership supports cruel and uncivil behavior
