Face it folks,Janet is OVER.Her new CD sold less than 200,000 in its first week.That is a "flop".It's gonna sell even less in the next few weeks so when all is said and done,it probably won't even reach platinum status,at least not here in the States.It'll be out of the Top 10 in a few weeks.This is her third flop album in a row.What is it they say….three strikes you're out? The world has moved on.People are sick and tired of the Jacksons.They're tired of Janet's tiny, whispery voice,singing about her vagina all the time.It's PLAYED OUT! She must have known this CD was gonna flop.That's why she's not doing much promotion for it.The first single "Feedback" went nowhere.Time to hang it up,Janet.

Britney's music sold because of publicity and also she appeals more to the Hanna Montana/Teeny Booper croud so of corse she's going to sale more on her opening week. I think Janet wants longevity with this album, not just huge first week numbers and then a cd that's no where to be found in it's second week.
Soundscan said the album sold 182,000 copies last week.
It's her 6th #1 debuting album, which ties her with Madonna.

Discipline may not have a HUGE debut, but it will be around for a while. There are alot of great songs, so it won't be going away for a while. I think it'll be like Fergie's The Dutchess. Didn't debut with massive numbers, but it's still got singles coming out 2 years later. F U Haters!
And I LOVE Madonna, but seriously, come on. Using Timberlake/Timbaland? Kinda desperate, don't u think? Even though 4 minutes is HOT, I find it a little desperate for her to stay relevant, whereas Janet doesn't need to work with what's trendy. Janet makes music for her fans, because likes to, not because she NEEDS to, like Madonna.
This woman has nothing to prove anymore, she’s had her great success. I mean nowadays people like Diana, Stevie, Patti, Aretha, etc they are legends in the game and they aren’t releasing albums to sell big numbers or prove anything to anybody. They’re releasing them because they want to and those that enjoy the music will buy the music and those that don’t should just shut up and keep it moving.
Nobody stays number one forever, so just because Janet is no longer at the level of success that she was in the 80s and 90s and early 2000 that means she should just stop doing what she loves, cause people on this website and others are saying she needs to quit? Since when did you become her manager? And just like I said before, for this woman to have been around for as long as she had and people still pay attention to her at the level they still do, that’s saying something. The fact that Larry King is still interested in interviewing her for the entire hour I mean look at the positives and stop looking at the negatives. People are always looking at the glass being half empty instead of half full and we need to stop that shit.
If she could sing, maybe I'd like her more. But her voice is like Diana Ross', so frail, birdlike and limited in range, anyone could sing those songs. She's always been about VIDEOS….people are realizing that. What sounds cute and girlish at 20 doesn't sound good at 42.
