We really hope this is just a vicious and malicious lie and that he sues them for spreading untruths.
We really really really hope it's a lie, but….
The National Enquirer is reporting exclusively that beloved Dirty Dancing and Ghost actor Patrick Swayze is dying of cancer and has only five weeks to live.
WTF????
Please say this isn't true!!!!
Let us all pray his publicist issues an immediate denial because this is just awful and sad and we can barely type this because we're crying so much.
Patrick is only 55 years old!!!!!!
The Enquirer claims that for the past month he’s been getting radical treatment at Stanford (they have a major cancer center), and flying up there in his private plane.
According to them, the cancer is in Swayze's pancreas and has quickly spread. The treatment does not seem to be working.
Please be WRONG!
And, if they are not wrong….
Let us send positive energy Patrick's way so that he is not in pain and to his family so that they remain strong during this most excruciatingly difficult time.

He's one of the good ones. Cancer knows nothing about wealth, faith, celebrity, gender, or race. It affects everyone. My aunt beat lung cancer only to be struck down by pancreatic..If this is true, it is heartbreaking. If it is not, the thank God and pray that the NE hets what it derserves..
NO WAY, I won't believe it. It would be all over the news, don't you think? I just love him. Such a big part of my childhood. I'll just be crossing my fingers that it's not true and wish his family lots of love and health.
I live close to Stanford and get the local paper. There was an article about how Patrick had been to Stanford for gastrointestinal-related surgery in the first week of February. If he does have pancreatic cancer, he still has a chance if they were willing to operate to probably remove the tumors, which means it hasn't metastisized. This type of cancer is usually fatal but not always. Look at Steve Jobs. Prayers for this guy though, it's a really tough cancer to beat.

National Enquirer is NOT a magazine worthy of truth and I am not hearing this reported anywhere else, but I hope it is not true. Such a wonderful actor and seems to be such a nice guy. Such a handsome guy too.
If this is not true, I would HOPE he sues the pants off of the Enquirer. That kind of tabloidism is just the worst.

I'm a big fan of his. A friend of mine played hockey with him in the movie Youngblood and said Patrick could play hockey and really skate (unlike Rob Lowe). I loved him in Donnie Darko too– very weird role, but he played it well.

Wow, I am praying that this is just a bunch of bull…..I have been watching Dirty Dancing literally since it came out. I was just a baby then, and my parents always had that movie on for me. I loved it, I still do. I love Patrick Swayze. He is one of the most Talented Actors of all time. I can't believe some of you are on here. Still writing…..FIRST! thats lame!
Who knows with the national enquirer. It's such a shame, he is a fabulous actor and a genuine, sweet guy. I watched an interview with him last year and he was so down to earth, even taking the piss out of himself. I really hope this isn't true. It would be such a loss, not just to his fans, but to the world as a human being.

Wait a second… wasn't Patrick arrested for either DRUNK DRIVING, or possibly flying an airplane DRUNK a few years ago? If he dies soon, it will be good, since he won't be able to possibly KILL an innocent driver or sidewalk passenger or airplane in the sky. What a jerk… KARMA, baby… KARMA. And he was a big SMOKER too… yech! I do think show-business will still be able to continue without the DRUNK. And if you had someone in your family killed by a DRUNK DRIVER, you would feel like i do.
My Mom list her best friend three months ago to pancreatic cancer. If you have it, you die quickly. It's the worst form of cancer anyone could have. If it is true that he has it, it won't be long for him. It will take him quickly, and no amount of money or treatments can save him.
i hope it is not true..my dad died of pancreatic cancer a year and a half ago..it's a hard thing to go through…god bless him and his family if it is true =(

Pancreatic cancer is the one of if not the most deadly of cancers. It has no screening process, often misdiagnosed and diagnosed at a late stage and has a very slim chance of survival. I lost my dad to this cancer in August and the effects of it were horrific beyond words. It would not surprise me if he had months or weeks to live if this report is true. Pancreatic cancer kills 95% of the diagnosed within a year and the remaining 5% are usually given about 5 years life expectancy. If this is true, Patrick and his family are headed down a very heartbreaking path and my heart breaks for them as well. Pancreatic cancer needs attention and funding so a screening process can be established and new treatments can be discovered.
For all of you who believe the power of prayer. Please pray for him…God is so great.

Anybody with a cancer diagnosis should do some internet research about this "therapy", and not just on AMA-approved sites.
if the National Enquirer did fabricate the story it is truly the most immoral and detestful things anyone can do and everyone who works for that magazine should be stoned and burn in hell. If this is not true, I would rip up every copy I see out of complete disgust for running such a serious and untrue story. Ive seen close family and friends suffer at the hands of cancer as thier bodies slowly get weaker and weaker until they can barely stand and are just a shell of their old selves. Its the most heartbreaking and painful thing a person can go through. To even look in a mirror and ask god what has happened to you and to barely recognize your own face. This is definitely no joke and anyone who makes one should suffer the same fate.
I hope this is not true - I lost my father to pancreatic cancer at the age of 53. Far too young and too talented…….

Unfortunately this is true. my friend is a nurse, and her friend, another nurse works at one of the facilities where he is getting treatment. she told me this last week. come to think of it i should have emailed you about it earlier, but I forgot about what she had said until I just saw this story.

My dad had it. but he was 84 . He was on a exercise bike a week before he passed. He knew and didnt tell us. But he lived a great life! God bless Pat
I just heard this on my local radio station, the DJ explained the same thing, five weeks to live. She said that his wife is praying he makes it through the summer so the can celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary!!! So Sad! My thoughts and prayers are with his family!

I think the opposite…he was not making fun in the slightest…If you are telling others who post not to make fun…I'm with you…anyone who makes fun needs to burn in hell. Stay strong…I've been through this myself. It's terribly hard, just make every second count and say everything you need to say to him so there will be no regrets.
my mother died 1 month ago with pancreatic cancer. it comes on quickly - one day you are healthy, the next you have months to live. it is a horrible form of cancer - where only 5% last 1 year and 1% last 5. I pray that if he does have it, he finds the way to take his brief period of time left and enjoy life and his family.

My dad just died of colon cancer that spread to the liver and lungs and then DRASTICALLY throughout the whole body. He died June 3rd, 2007. We are DEVASTATED so if this IS true - may God be with their family because my dad was only 60 years old and it is just a horrible, horrible disease to watch someone go through.

He surprisingly lived a year and a half with it, which is twice as long as he should have, so if this rumor is true, I hope Patrick Swazye is able to be on top of it for a while. I have a friend who is 33 year old and she is dying of cancer and only has hours to live as I type this, cancer can strike anyone at anytime it knows no boundaries, age race or status - it strikes with such randomness

This seems like a very strong rumor. Why the heck can't they find some cures for these awful diseases? We have incredible technology, can put space probes on Mars, etc. but can't cure cancer and it's the 21st Century? I guess there's no money in doing that.
I had a parent with pancreatic cancer. I pray to God that he doesn't have it, and I truly feel sorry for him if he does. This is one of those cancers that you don't survive from, and you're lucky to live a year after diagnosis. I really hope this isn't true.

I really hope this is not true! It's so strange how you can become attached to people you don't even know personally. However, we are all human and share the common bonds of sickness and loss and death. If the pancreatic cancer diagnosis is true, then the prognosis of 5 weeks may very well be accurate. Pancreatic cancer is incredibly lethal and is very, very rarely curable. If it is true then I sure hope that their faith (whichever it may be) helps Patrick and his family resign themselves to decision that has been made by the higher ups. I hope they find the strength to fill the remaining time with nothing but unconditional love and support. When someone goes through something like this it really makes no difference whether you know them personally or not. Each and every one of us could very well be in this situation tomorrow so things like this should serve as a reminder that we are not immortal. We should cherish every moment we have to express our love to the ones closest to us. Tomorrow will never be guaranteed and time is not forever.

If this is not true, I hope they sue big! My husband is only 36 and was diagnosed with advanced renal cell cancer (kidney) in Jan. We have an 8 year old son and it has been so hard for us and we have had to tell friends and family members at a pace that we could handle it. It has been the hardest thing we have ever faced in our lives. If the story about Patrick Swayze is true then shame on the Enquirer anyway, because Patrick may not be ready to let the world know.
