honestly…
I don't get it. I really don't get the lack of beauty in fashion photography lately (purely an observation with an opinionated twist…). As a child of the '80's, thinker, creative, I'm feeling uninspired.
That's what this picture conveys to me.

Two words: love it! I think the tea cup next to Richards is a bit odd…unless it's filled with cocaine and booze. I understand that they were aiming for a juxtaposition but the tea set in the back AND the tea cup up front?! Come on, it's overkill…unless he plans to crush it up and snort it.

This image is a healthy shift away from the young simpering dude/dudette image that promotes an unhealthy obsession with anorexia, perfectionism and creates idols out of talentless undeserving individuals. This is a masterfully shot photo of a rock legend who is talented and who is a unique character. This is a subtle approach to advertising LV - the personality is the dominant factor endorsing the LV suitcase. Yes he's ugly but your dim 'ad-washed' brains can't see past he is a very famous and respected rock star (not some generic plastic beauty) promoting LV to a new audience.
