The Kohl Corp (who????) must be in the crapper, because they've resorted to teaming up with April Lavigne to launch her own "rocker" inspired clothing line to come out this July.
April's line will be called Abbey Dawn, and it will be aimed towards the tween market.
You know, cuz she's such a great role model!
The brand will be introduced this summer for back-to-school shoppers, and will feature new collections every 60 days.
The clothes are set to be designed to Avril's taste. In other words: she's not designing that shit herself!
They will include "a lot of hot pinks and blacks and stars and purple and zebra," says Lavigne. "Basically, everything I wear. I have a very particular style. I actually am the designer. What's really important to me is that everything fits well and is well-made, so I try everything on and approve it all. I want it to be available to a lot of girls, and I want it to be affordable."

The line is expected to retail from $24 to $48 and will also include jewelry and other items to be added later on.

Hey Perez, I must agree with a post below….Kohl's is currently one of the top grossing retailers in the country and is growing at a fast rate than any other retailer….the Simply Vera, Vera Wang launch was incredibly successful. Kohl's also exclusively carries the Food Network products, Candies (Hayden Pantierre is the new Candies girl), the Ralph Lauren Brand- Chaps, and many many others. Avril should be happy to have a line with Kohl's- and I guarantee you this deal was sealed FAR before her poor ticket sales. Kohl's serves the middle market…they are not a discount retailer, nor a high end retailer, they serve the regular American family. Make sure you do your homework before dogging great companies!!

Well, Kohl's is not a crappy store - it is a National department store. It is not old ladyish. It has several different departments - Misses, Womens, Children, Men, Toys, Housewares, a huge Shoe department, and a Juniors department. Juniors would probably be where you would find Avril's new line. The Juniors department is trendy and has some great clothing. Kohl's is in line with major department stores but is at a much more affordable level for middle-class America. There are already skulls and stars, and purple and black all over the department so her clothes will probably blend right in with the rest. Regardless of what everyone thinks of her music career, hooking up with Kohl's is a very shrewd business decision on her part. Like someone said earlier, Kohl's carries Liz Claiborne and Vera Wang, also Polo and other lines created just for them by many designers.
She will do well despite the crappy comments from everyone here and Perez!
Kohl's is very similar to JC Pennys, like a 1/2 step down from it, ie Shiteous clothes @ a bargain price, perfect for Avril!
