    Danny was voted off because a sizable percentage of the American populace can't handle a cute piece of sass who might influence their trailer-trash kiddieos to brush their hair and wear flattering ensembles. God forbid they start digging up Marc Almond's back catalog, or experimenting with flat irons and scarves.

    I was shocked - truly shocked - but it's not all that surprising when you think about the social climate these days. That AP would even put out an article yesterday entitled, "Is America Ready for a Gay Idol?" speaks volumes. The question strikes me as hypocritical, considering viewers are quite accepting of attempts to cover Queen, George Michael, etc. on that very stage. They adore established singers who flaunt androgyny-up-to-here, but their trumped-up karaoke show had better not appear to favor flamboyance in its contestants, because we all know that's a sure sign of talent deficiency. :dripping with sarcasm:

    Danny, brush yourself off and don't give it a second thought. The most memorable performers have a spark of devil-may-care originality that sets them apart - and scares more mundane listeners into opposition. We won't forget how you made your competitors fade into bland indistinctness, and look forward to seeing you at the top of the charts, on your own terms! And keep rocking that black and purple - it suits you.

    all i can say is america u guys are CRAZY!!! this guy has soo much talent, and a fun, lovable personality, but he also knows how to speak his mind which is what more people need to do in this world, he is not afriad nor ashamed of who he is which is what would have made him an amazing american idol and an idol for the rest of the world.
