Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer, his publicist confirmed on Wednesday.
The average life expectancy of someone diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.
And, according to the National Enquirer, who broke the sad news first, Patrick's cancer has already spread to other parts of his body - making his chances of survival even more slim.
Let us all sends our prayers, positive energy and thoughts to him. That he is not in pain. And that his family does not suffer too much either.
So incredibly, heartbreakingly sad.

this is such a shock! my prayers are with him and his family. anything is possible but the chances of beating this damn cancer are so slim.
Has any other celebrity actually been told they only have weeks to live, before, or is he the first?? I wonder how the media is going to handle it??
Oh my gosh, this makes me SO SAD. STAY STRONG, PATRICK!! He is one of my favorite actors and I am so upset that he will have to go through this. He is too young to be facing such a horrible illness

I had 2 close people and a cat pass away from pancreatic cancer. Reading this makes me cry knowing what he's going through. Its a terrible way to go. My heart goes out to him and his family.

Patrick, they have experimental cancer cure treatment going on at the University of Alberta in Canada. The cancer treatment is called dichloroacetic acid, or DCA. In addition, there is an extract from the feverfew plant called parthenolide that is available in some health food stores that has been studied as a possible cancer cure. Just please give either option a shot.

So terribly sad. My father-in-law died of pancreatic cancer last year, only 11 weeks after diagnosis, and those were a miserable 11 weeks for him. May Patrick and his family suffer less.

If the reports are true about Patrick having Pancreatic Cancer, my heart aches for him and his family!!! My Dad passed away three years ago from this gruesome cancer! He was diagnosed in Sept 04 and died in Feb 05. He was 9 days from turning 60. It's like as soon as they are diagnosed, they loose all the weight but then seem to turn around and bounce back, then BAM - out of no where it takes them

OMG!!! Johnny Castle CAN'T die!!! This is so sad. Patrick left Hollywood because he hated it and just wanted to be a cowboy on his ranch with his lovely wife and his animals…amazing true country boy with loads of dancing talent and real sex appeal. I have seen Dirty Dancing more than 200 times and I will also never forget North and South (Awesome 80's mini-series - Orry Main will live on in the DVD world) and of course Ghost but nothing will ever eclipse the iconography of Dirty Dancing.

OH WOW…. I feel so terribly awful for Patrick's family. My grandmother was diagnosed and died of this kind of cancer. The problem is, by the time they find it it is usually very aggressive, and in Patrick's case, has spread to other areas of the body.
My heart aches over this, and if nothing else I pray that he suffers as little as possible.
May God watch over him now more than ever!
