If we all buy the song and we make it go to the Top 10, it'd be a nice gesture to the ailing Dirty Dancing star.

Perez, you know what? You are cool. I am gonna buy it even tho it is cheesey and out of date and was not all that when it came out. Dirty Dancing is cheesey. But I LOVE Dirty Dancing. And this is a very nice thing to do for him. You have moments of basic decency, man. In that respect, there is no one like you, Perez. You can be sleazy and childish and wrong as shit. I read somewhere along time ago Patrick turned down 6million dollars to reprise his role or Johnny Castle……( my prayers and thoughts go out to his family at this time … stay strong! ) He was on Oprah not too long ago and was so nice to a couple who learned his dance from Dirty Dancing and surprised them , it was a great show ..

Perez, this was a great idea. This is something POSITIVE, and I'm glad you're part of something positive. We all need to recognize that–yes, gossip and celebrity gawking is fun–but we need to use our energy FOR GOOD from time to time.
Keep up the nice gestures; there is no need to be invasive to Patrick or his family; this is just a nice way for his fans to root for his recovery or, at the very least, for peace and serenity during this difficult time.
Keep us posted and let us know where the song stands on the iTunes charts. Posting a few reminders would be great.

Re: lj – You're exactly right. Once there are symptoms of this cancer, it's too late. Michael Landon died of PC, so did my father. He was diagnosed in February and he died April 2. Another distant family member died within 6 months of diagnosis - it's a BITCH.
Went on Itunes and bought it, event hough I already have the soundtrack. I do what ever perez says to do. Really, we all could use some sap in our lives.
