We just downloaded Patrick Swayze's She's Like The Wind on iTunes and we've been playing it on repeat.
If we all buy the song and we make it go to the Top 10, it'd be a nice gesture to the ailing Dirty Dancing star.

I was first seduced by Patrick Swayze in The Outsiders….No matter what he does, or has done, he will always be Darry to me!! Whatever happens with him, there are millions of women my age who will be forever grateful not only for having some great fantasies inspired by him (okay, what woman my age didn't want to do him after Dirty Dancing?…and don't even get me started on Roadhouse!)…but if you look at his roles in so many movies, his character always wanted to do the right thing. Tough to be the sexy tough guy and still maintain your morals. I've always loved him in his movies, and his SNL gigs were SO awesome! Who knew he could be funny too…and willing to go outside his comfort zone to entertain us?
I do hope for the best, but I realize the gravity of his medical situation. At 46, I have sat and watched Dirty Dancing with my 16 year old daughter, and even she has to admit how hot he is. There's more than "hot" to him, and I hope he is one of the few who survive this cancer.
I will surely pray for him, and send him a quiet "thanks" for so many years of taking me away from the "same old"….isn't that what acting is all about?
Positive thoughts for Patrick and his family….Life happens, and death, or impending death is part of life. He touched this middle-aged woman..(without actually touching)…and that's a great gift!

what is so horrible about this cancer is it is the 4th leading cause of cancer death yet ONLY gets 1% of funding for cancer research. there is no screening, little drugs, no symptoms, there is HOPE and SURVIVORS.
I am nearly 46, next week in fact, and to whoever wrote that she's 46 and it's middle aged, OK, but I look better and feel better than twenty years ago. To those in their 20s, watch out. The years coming up do literally fly by. I love that we're all here with all our different ages, baggages, opinions and trash talk! Love you, Perez.
I think the idea of downloading that song from iTunes is a great idea. Don't forget everyone…his family will benefit from his estate if he doesn't make it. I can't think of a more generous parting gift.

I hope the best for Patrick Swayze. My larger point is that only caring about people when they get sick is no way to live a life. Swayze would have been a punchline a few days ago. Any of Perez's targets could die tomorrow so why not be decent to some of them today? You can't call someone a joke on Monday and a saint on Tuesday without wondering if you were a little harsh on Monday.
