Smoking Kills!

wenn778633.jpg

Kids, do NOT smoke!!!!!
SMOKING KILLS!

A new report claims that actor Patrick Swayze had a filthy habit of smoking three packs of cigarettes a day.

We hope that's not true.

Any sane person would know THAT IS TOO MUCH.

Smoking kills!

INSIDE EDITION has uncovered Patrick Swayze had a three pack a day cigarette habit. The habit was so bad it was listed as a partial factor in the cause of a plane crash Swayze was involved in by the National Transit Safety Board in 2000. The report reveals Swayze was flying his plane when he became physically impaired in the cockpit which authorities said may have been caused by the cumulative effects of carbon monoxide by-products from the engine and from tobacco use.

Don't smoke, kids!!!

According to the American Cancer Society previous studies have shown that smoking is responsible for about one-third of pancreatic cancer deaths. Studies reveal heavy smoking may damage the pancreas before cancer develops leaving the damaged pancreas more susceptible and at a greater risk of developing cancer.

Smoking kills!!!!

Are you studying to be a surgeon? 'Cause you've already got a "God complex."
"Just a little side note for those who's heads i am talking over"
How very condescending! Maybe you ought to go back to high school and study English. The word you're looking for in that context is "whose."

    excuse me.

if patrick swayze is dying, he has the right to spend his last days in PEACE.

he and his family should NOT have to endure endless speculation about his health condition or the amount of time he has left.

the national enquirer had no right to discuss his health condition, this is nothing more than a MACBRE death watch!

    its not right.

Well, I don't know what to tell you but my brother inlaw has survived pancreatic cancer and is 7 years out. He smoke through his treatment and smokes to this day. Not saying it's a great habit, but everyone is different and smoking has not affected his recovery and he was told it DID NOT cause his pancreatic cancer. Folks, don't undergo chemo or radiation because you will NOT qualify for experimental treatments that can cure your cancer.

I luved Dirty Dancing and I thank him for affording me the pleasure I derived from that move.

My father-in-law died from pancreatic cancer, and he was a heavy smoker. This was in the late 80's, and his dr. at the time sited the smoking link. So this is nothing new…

It is sad, because I continue to see young kids puffing away, kids who will later become victims too if they don't quit.

God bless Patrick. I hope he beats the dreadful odds associated with this disease.

I am a smoker and I just wanted to say that I would very much like to quit and am at this very moment trying to do so. It is very HARD and I wish I had never started. I started when I was in high school and thought it was no big deal untill I started to feel tired and out of breath all the time. I also felt sick and just felt plain crummy. I realized I needed to quit but found myself unable to do so. I have quit and started again several times because I just couldn't stand the constant craving.
I have found a very good reason to stay away from them this time though because I am pregnant.
I just want to say to anyone who doesn't smoke……Don't start! You may think it is no big deal and you can stop when you want but you can't it is an addiction and a very hard one to boot.

    223

    Re: Joe Camel – #220
Like it or not, people often believe personal experience constitutes evidence. Remember the silicon breast implant stories? Thousands of women had them out because they believed the implants were making them deathly ill. However, there is no clinical evidence to support their claims, and they are still available to this day. I, for one, tend to side with the women who say the implants made them sick.
Then, there's the case of global warming. Long before mainstream science accepted that human activity was effecting global climate, a few so-called kooks were out there, trying to get people to listen to them. My own father-in-law, a prominent and very liberal biochemist, refused to believe it for years because there was no "real evidence" supported by the scientific method.
Intuition and anecdotal information CAN be useful in helping to form concrete truths. They are often the catalysts for clinical studies that contain "real" evidence and result in established facts. If people never imagined beyond accepted dogma, intellectual progress would be impossible.

Ok, a lot of dumb MFs here need to take the cig out of their mouths and learn to read. Smoking INCREASES the CHANCES of getting pancreatic cancer. Its not the single cause, but its an activity that INCREASES your CHANCES of getting it. Just like being in prison isn't the only place to die a violent death, but certainly being there INCREASES the CHANCES of dying that way. Smoking is stupid, but Swayze chose to be stupid (like when he chose to do Wong Foo,) but it was his choice and he knew the health risks involved. I had a girlfriend who smoked one pack a day and she stunk like a car exhast pipe … God knows how stinky Patrick is after 4 packs a day (well, if the reports are true, God will know for himself in 5 weeks.)

My only regret with smokers other than I've had to inhale their secondhand smoke for years, is that they don't die sooner. If they all started popping off in their 20's or 30's then people would probably never start. When a 14 year old starts smoking they can't even comprehend that they will die of a smoking related disease in their 50's or 60's . That is a million light years away for them. If they would just die sooner they would eventually eliminate themselves under natural selection laws.
The government is so hypocritical, you can smoke tobacco but not pot but you can drink alcohol but not until you are a certain age, oh and that age is not the same age that you can vote or serve and die for your country. Why do we put up with these retarded rules?
Eventually the hypocritical government will ban smoking. It might take 40 more years but it will happen. Until then, smoke on all you stinking retards, it's going to catch up with you eventually. Who cares if all us non-smoking taxpayers have to foot the bill. What a friggin' waste of time, effort, life and money.

Unfortunately some folks have to learn the hard way. It's an addiction…. it's hard to kick. One day they will probably ban coffee because they will find out that it causes cancer or something. Then people will look down on coffee drinkers after the fact and make them feel bad about drinking coffee. Despite all the warnings and labels and smoke-free areas, lawsuits, and other things people continue to do it. Why?

My uncle died from pancreatic cancer 3 years ago, and he DID NOT SMOKE! Pancreatic Cancer is one of the worse you can be diagnosed with, because by the time they figure out what's wrong, you're likely in Stage 4, and it has a huge death rate. Mu uncle went from being healthy at the beach with us, to dead in a year. Sucks! Everyone tries to blame everyone's cancer on smoking cigs. But, basically everything you do in daily life, now has a link to cancer. I now drive an hour every couple weeks to buy raw cow's milk from an all natural dairy farm, because the milk they sell us in stores is so horrible for you. You wanna blame the majority of cancer cases on something, blame it on our milk! Heating up to the point of pasturization, causes a healthy enzyme to become a carcinogen.
