Perhaps because he's very young he doesn't realize that all that affectation - the over the top expressions and body language - all an attempt at screaming "I'm gay!" makes him a caricature. A hetero man stomping around like a macho caveman would be equally ridiculous. He's gorgeous and talented and smart - why not let that speak for who you are rather than trumpeting a stereotype in everyone's faces to the extent that it completely overshadows who he is? Ok, you're gay. Who cares? What ELSE do you have to say to the world?

Sorry to say, he did it to himself. I am for people being themselves, however, you have to remember that not everyone thinks that way. The bible belters were probably using their prayer line to ensure he didn't move on. Remember, this is the country where they want a Constitutional Amendment against gays (gay marriage to be exact, but then what would be next?). At the very least, he should have not gone for the 'shock' attack, in the beginning. If it was me, I would make sure that nothing online would come back to haunt me, especially if I was looking at fame. He should have let people know him, not through actions but through his voice. He did last longer than I thought. The one time I saw him mouth back to Simon, I knew he wouldn't last. You can't do that and maintain respect of the audience. Instead of taking the criticism as an adult, he came back as a spoiled child. I do wish him well, and hopefully, he does make it in whatever field he chooses.
Danny was talented with a great voice, but he was uncomfortable to watch. I was watching a very annoying girl, but realizing it was actually a boy. If he were a girl it would have been annoying but because he was a boy it was uncomfortable to say the least.
If he were so flamboyant, he would have sent Chikeze home easily. But its American Idol, Not Cross Desser Idol, or Ambigiously Gay Idol.
Now its just going to be lame again. He was the personality of the show. I cannot really believe that HE was voted off. Something is up. And I loved how he burned Ryan Seacrest when he commented on Danny's purple highlights. I don't like that piece of shit Ryan Seacrest. He thinks that he the best thing on this planet. You KNOW that he did ANYTHING to get where he is. I think that is just great when someone gets the best of that tightass.

the bottom line is that he wasn't going to win the competition. The order in which those who aren't going to win is sometimes screwy - in the end, it doesn't matter. He'd never have gotten to the top.
He's got a niche for sure and he'll do well but not the DAMN THAT VOICE IS AMAZING thing that can - or should - win a singing competition.

Danny took it much better than I thought he would. I saw it coming. The bottom 3 guys I guessed. Totally surprised though that Asia Epperson went home. She was one of the best female vocalists there. Have no idea why Simon doesn't like her voice. This year, it's all about the guys. I don't think the girls, as a whole, are all that great. And I totally don't understand why they are billing this as the most talented group on Idol. Look for Kristy, Amanda, and Brook to exit next (probably in that order). Kady never lived her to her audition performance. She was inexplicably bad on the show. It's like someone was posing as Kady after the audition. During the audition, I thought she would win the whole thing. I think David Archuleta will win, and Caryl Smithson will come in second, though her tattoos are NASTY!!

Sorry people, it's safe to say that he may have had alot of the "gay" vote, but that wasn't enough. When men are as flamboyant as he was it just doesn't sit well with alot of people. You mix that in with the cocky attitude and you just knew he had to go. His singing wasn't so exceptional that one would overlook everything else. Sad to see his dream shattered, but he'll be fine.
