When Grown Men Cry

Brett Favre gave a very emotional press conference on Thursday announcing his retirement from the NFL.

Click here to watch his touching goodbye from football.

We got choked up just watching him!

When a grown man cries, that's some serious shit. It's actually quite beautiful.

Goodbye, Brett!

um… that speech was WAY over dramatic! lol. He was talking like someone had just raped his mom or something. haha… good hell. When most people retire they don't go on and on like that. Haha. He was just trying to make it a big deal but over what i am not sure. It's just everyone now dayz has to try and outdo the last person in drama so I guess he gave it a good shot with his sobbing and sex sounds. I was laughing the whole time. yawn.

Its a fuckin' game. We Americans are so overly emotional over football and place WAY TOO MUCH importance on it. I have no problem with Brett Favre but in schools and in our culture, football is like a damn religion, especially in the South. There are more important things in life that football. I'm sure Favre is sad but he's got plenty of money, he's good looking and I'm sure has a good life. Enjoy your life…there's more to life than sports, Brett! Do other things you've dreamt of or perhaps give back to your community—you just might find that more satisfying that throwing a winning touchdown.

Oh, boo-hoo. He'll be fine. Hell, think of that beautiful NFL pension! Plus, I'm sure he'll keep some multi million dollar endorsements. I bet we'll see him become an announcer. If only we all could get paid as well for playing a game.

He isnt dying of cancer, his family is healthy, he is rich as hell, so stop slobbering like your life is over. What a pansy! I was so annoyed with him. He needs to put his priorities in order and be thankful for what he has NOT that his effin football career is over!

I got all teary watching this again. As a proud Packer fan this is the day I have dreaded for a long time. I wish you all the best Brett. The Packer Nation will miss you.

  18. kyla says – reply to this

    118

people can say whatever they want about his career. yes, packer fans have loved him through both good and bad games (and plays, obviously he's had his fair share). however, the reason it's so hard to see him go is not because we're going to miss him on the field (yes, it will be quite the adjustment), but because he has always treated green bay well. he is like family in wisconsin. packer fans aren't looking up to an unreachable idol. he definitely is "one of us," and that makes it hard to say goodbye.

  19. thanks says – reply to this

perez I offically love you for respecting brett favre and even mentioning him on this website you are the mannnnnn

  20. miley says – reply to this

brett is not a great man. can we talk about his addiction to pain killers or the fact that he cheated on his wife. not exactly what i would call a class act. i'm from wisco and have never been happier to see him gone. people treat him like he's god because he can throw a damn football.

    Re: I love Brett

just because you have a share of the stock doesn't mean you "own" the packers. i don't any of you guys helping with the trades or hell did he contact any of you when he retired. no, because just like with every other professional team, the fans don't really matter when it comes to that stuff. the packers are just smart enough to steal your money and make you think you are making a difference

That was beautiful…never been a packers fan (Cowboys all the way baby!)…and I always use to beat up on my friend about his love for Favre…but man no one should be putting him down for showing his emotions. He gave so much to the NFL, to his fans….and he truly loved the game…not for the glory and money though. Amazing athlete, I wish him all the best in life and God Bless him. Nobody should show anything but respect on here for Favre.

My heart is broken! I had some much hope that Brett would give us one more season! But as I am sad, I am happy. I have enjoyed being able to watch such a legand! I love him and respect his choice and #4 needs to be retired in Green Bay!!!

  38. Carmen says – reply to this

    138

To all the haters, do you know anything about Brett Favre? Besides being one of the greatest ever to step on the field, he is an incredible human being.
His Fourward Foundation has benefited so many and he's made so many children happy granting their wishes. Did you see the interview where he cried over one of the children? He did all of these great things for charity and didn't make a self promoting spectacle of himself like some of the celebrities worshipped today (Angelina anyone!) He will be forever treasured here in Wisconsin, the Packer and the man.

WISCONSIN LOVES YOU BRETT! We'll miss you dearly and we'll always remember you. :( I'm so sad lol, this made me cry. He's been the Packers quarterback ever since I was 3 or 4 years old. This is the end of an incredible era. It's so depressing to even be in Wisconsin at the moment, you can walk up to anybody and be like "so about Brett Favre…" and we'll all get mad/sad/emotional/whatever. I know he's just a football player, but he's a part of all of us and will always be. This is so cheesy lol. I'm done.

  46. BJ says – reply to this

    146

It's only football…geez!!!! He should save those tears for something important like the death of a loved one or the thousands of soldiers being killed in a senseless war . People get fired or resign from jobs every day and don't carry on like that….move on…get a life!

To get emotional is to be human, so all you douches that have no life or soul to rely on, that's what happens: you get emotional. Look it up on the Internet. this man is a classic for the ages. a gunslinging gambler who never quit. THE prototype pro athlete. Loyalty, dedication, guts and determination. The emotion he his showing here is a reflection of what he has put into the sport over the years. Those ignorant fucks who have chosen to slag him here are very cynical small people who dont know shit about life. Ever played a sport on a serious level? i didnt think so. The favre example of what to do in your life, how to approach challenges and how to respond when people depend on you will shine through to the end of time. what will you dinks leave behind? fuck all i assume. thanks brett favre for showing how it should be done.

  77. ranlein says – reply to this

    177

i really cant believe the people who say brett favre sucked. you cant deny hes good even if your not a fan….he has broke a lot of records and is number 1. even if one of them is interceptions but thats because he has played so many games and has had those opp. and he is a gunslinger. thats why people love him…he gives it his all. dont be rude and respect someone who has done great things in football and for numerous charities around the world. i am from wisconsin and love him and was at his last regular season home game and this is hard time for hard core packer fans but dont hate on him simply because you dont like him…he is a good player weather you hate the packers or love the vikings or bears or any other team….he is one of the greatest and there is no denying it…and a great man. he was not being over dramatic…it was from his heart. do you really think he wanted to cry and have it all over the world…no…but he did because it was what he was feeling

The fact that Brett Farve is hoping that the owners of the Green Bay Packers know that their money was well spent bothers me. It makes me wonder how someone of his stature would be put in a position where he his questioning that. Makes me not feel to warm and fuzzy for the owners of the Packers. Brett Farve never missed a start in his whole career. Can you think of anybody else who can say that? Someone mentioned on a post that there is a rumour that the rest of the Packers team weren't behind him anymore. I hope that isn't true.

What the fuck….I cannot BELIEVE some of the immature and just plain stupid comments from a lot of you on here. Most of you probably don't even know anything about football. GROW UP!!!!! Brett Favre was an amazing athlete who played from the heart, which is why he got so emotional. For him, the game meant so much more than money and fame…unfortunately, we don't have many NFL players like him anymore. When you've been a part of something for as many years as Brett has been part of the Packers, you're going to get emotional. Goodbye Brett…thanks for everything that you've done for the Packers and the state of Wisconsin. You'll be missed!!!!

Anyone who rips on Favre can FUCK OFF. He's a humble, genuine man who played for the love of the game, and he doesn't deserve some of the comments that you ignorant fools have posted on here. There's nothing wrong with a man crying over something he loves…it only shows how much he cared.
