Pregnant….and Unhappy

Yes, Lisa Marie Presley is sperminated, but she's not very happy with the way the media has attacked her for putting on weight this past week.
Elvis' daughter took to her blog to vent and air out her frustrations.
She says:
"Confirmation under the gun.
After being the target all week of slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media, I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant.
Once they got a glimpse of my expanding physique a few days ago, they have been like a pack of coyotes circling their prey whilst eerily howling with delight. Starting with a London publication and then New York and Chicago all writing false defamatory degrading stories about all of the dark possible reasons I could be putting on weight. The US tabloids have been calling all day wanting confirmation on all kinds of insane theories.
They couldn't wait to find out if my weight gain was because I was just overeating, in which case It would be open season and they can do the old following in her fathers sad and unfortunate demise story again or less interesting for them and probably much to their dismay, I could just be pregnant and therefore have a legitimate reason for weight gain at which point they should probably wipe the saliva off of their fangs and put them back in their mouths or they may expose the black little souls that they are.
Now that things are confirmed, hopefully they can stop all of the harassment and I can stop dodging the continuous bullets.
It is unfortunate that I couldn't have announced something that is this much of a blessing and that has made us so incredibly happy under better circumstances.
How they have handled themselves with this has been nothing short of irresponsible and disgusting.
Pardon my seething contemptuous tone but ladies, You KNOW if you were pregnant and you felt you were expanding uncontrollably by the moment as a result and the worldwide media started badgering and harassing you for it, plastering you everywhere in an unflattering light, you would be mortified as well.

I was listening to Howard on Sirius this week and he totally ripped on her weight - I was like "wtf? The girl's pregnant!!!". I love Howard, but usually he's totally on top of all the stories - I don't think he knew at that point so I'll cut him some slack….btw I think she looks great as aways.

OK…does anyone get the irony here….she's disgusted by the attention the media and everyone is placing on her. She hates that everyone has made assumptions about her appearance. BUT she is complaining about it on HER BLOG! In other words, "hey world, listen to me, look at me, but only the way I want to present my pre-packaged self to you". Hey LMP— deal with it.
First off I want to say that I totally understand why she is upset. I'm also pregnant and with my first and I have picked up a pretty pound. Sometimes you just can't help it. And it's not like us pregnant woman can exercise vigorously to keep the weight off, it's actually very healthy to put on some pounds.

I think this is sad the way the media hound stars on weight. Most women naturally fluctuate between five or ten pounds and can sometimes even look like they may have a "baby bump" when its that time of the month due to bloating. And so what if someone gains weight! Its way better than looking sickley and disgustingly thin like some other people we know. When targeting those people I think they need to because maybe it can open their eyes to a potential deadly problem. But I also think that if the celebs were'nt so secretive lately about their pregnancies the paps and media would'nt hound them as much. If you're pregnant just admit it! Whats the big deal?

She makes a very good point. It is inconceivable in the current media frenzy that a celeb is given the respect and opportunity to disclose personal info on their own terms. The press outed Patrick Swayze's illness before he could or more importantly..wanted..to have it publicized. They may be public people but it doesnt give the media the right to disect or force them to speak publicly about private matters. Lisa Marie should be enjoying the blessing of her pregnancy and yet she is hounded and called fat and worse..as if it isnt difficult as it is with her body changing so rapidly.
