I would love to say that I am a Proud Oklahoman, But I am saddend and appalled at what Sally Kern has said. She should be ashamed and embrassed. Hatred of any kind should never be tollerated. She claims she has been a teacher. What is she teaching children? I have 2 small children of my own and Hope that they grow up in a state that embraces everyone no matter, sex, gender. sexual orientation.. Who gives a crap!!!! I am going to take it upon myself to make a big stink here in Oklahoma and Hopefully someone will make her accountable for the nasty words that came out of her mouth. She should step down from her seat because she can't apparently keep her outragous religous beliefs to herself. I apologize to anyone that has been hurt from her nasty tirade and Believe that not Everyone in Oklahoma are idiots or uneducated. She does not speak for us all.

Oh no look out the gays are coming…….surely homosexuality usurps nuclear war, global warming, pollution, murder, homicide, drug and sex trafficking, child abuse, and a plethora of other heinous issues…..oh no the gays might adopt unwanted children, they might educate themselves and become political figures, they might try to play a pivotal role in the world they live in….everyone please close your doors and lock them…..because certainly that's what I am having nightmares about at night…THE GAYS….I live in Memphis, TN where six people were slain this week, three students have been shot this year, and there is a homicide about every other day…..for a city that claims everything in the name of Jesus….we are having some MAJOR problems. Her words are no different than any 'terrorist'; any one human being who thinks his or her religion/country/lifestyle is the 'right' one is a danger to the rest of the sane population. I'm not gay or religiously affiliated, but I also don't judge what other people are doing … as long as I am not forced to follow their lifestyle it's all peaches and cream.

I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma (just moved here for my partner) and I do believe that this is the way many think, but it is all over the place, not just in Oklahoma. THAT is the reason we have (and need) LGBT centers (youth centers too) and GSA organizations, because of ignorant people like Sally Kern.
Maybe Sally Kern should attend a GSA meeting at the local high school and educate herself so that she realizes the LGBT community doesn't recruit straight people at any age.

This is completely embarassing. I am from Oklahoma, and I love my state - but this is the most embarassed I have ever been. I don't know how to go about apologizing for this woman, the best I can do is to say that in NO WAY does she represent the the people of her state. Also, to the few people who agree with Ms. Kerns here and bring up religion…the Constitution says we all have a right to practice whatever religion we choose and also says the government cannot establish a national religion. So why again should your Bible dictate my rights, when I am not obligated to believe in your Bible?
If a gay city council member is working for the benefit of the citizens of that community, fine, that's what they were elected/appointed to do. However, if they're using the position fo further an agenda in direct opposition to the values of a given community, then get the hell out. BTW, saying you don't subscribe to a particular lifestyle is a person's choice (hear that word choice, hypocrites), and is NOT hate speech. Just because you may disagree does NOT constitute hate speech, and that includes disparating remarks gays make about others (hear that, you liberal lemmings). So knock that s**t off!

I'm from Oklahoma and a teenager who think people like Sally Kern needed to learn when to shut up. However, the older generation here in Oklahoma does somewhat think like her, but go to the younger generations, the ones that are going to be run this country in the future, don't agree with this. Younger people today are more opened minded then our elders. I have never been ashamed to be from Oklahoma even though there are so many stereotypes about people from Oklahoma. Yet, today after watching that video I really truly wish I lived somewhere else.
