It simply put Barack's relative newness to the whole politcal arena into plain English. Like any good, unbiased news article, the journalist simply stated facts that allow the reader to draw their own conclusion. That's going to be a problem for her when people begin asking her what she means by experience. Unfortunately, she did have experiences in other nations, but not the kind that would yield leadership potential. I, too, have experience travelling the globe.

It's interesting that he took advice to run for the highest seat in the land from two guys who never managed to make it there themselves. A promising guy, for sure - but it takes a hell of a lot of ego to run for something when you know you're not even closely prepared for it. As a Chicagoan, we're pissed that he never even did the job we elected him to do. Too bad his ego let him get pushed in way too soon. He may just win, but that's not necessarily the best thing at this point in time. We just can't have another republican administration again - they have proven themselves as negligent to our economy and to national security.

This article is not exactly negative. It gives some remarkable insight into Obama's celebrity during his time in the senate. Celebrity is power and those who know how to use it are forces to be reckoned with. Deriding his showiness is taking away from the fact that it is a smart move to be a show horse.

The piece also points out his strengths; he's an amazing organizer, brilliant communicator, and a genius at inspiring the masses. If Ted Kennedy and Tom Daschle–two of the most experienced, respected Democrats to sit in the Senate in recent years–think he'd run the country well, who are we to argue?
