READ THE ARTICLE!!! It's not critical like Perez says. It's unbiased and provides a good insight into life as a young senator. Sure, he didn't accomplish much but no one else did either. As nice as I am sure it would be to have an African American in the White House as president, it won't be him. I am a democrat and if it comes down to Obama and McCain, I will have to vote for McCain. I don't trust Obama any further then I can throw him. I believe Obama is the President of change. He has great views and plans for the future. It is quite hard to differ himself from Hilary because they both have very very similar views. They are all politicians so how much can you trust them so with that said I think you just have to go with the best promises and hope for the best. Barack Obama speaks about change and reform and in my mind, tat is what we need….a complete 180 degree reform. Hilary has great opinions as well but she seems to be more about "being president" than "being a President for THE PEOPLE"

the number one reason for people losing their homes is medical expenses. Hillary wants universal healthcare (and had the courage to try for it in 1992). Seems to me, if in 92 her ideas were passed, the rapid foreclosure on peoples homes and health insurance problems wouldn't be such an issue now. would've been nice for the country, instead we're headed for a recession.
Obama isn't for universal healthcare. At least he's too scared to take a stance, for fear of turning off voters. He's into playing it safe, I get it.

GIVE me a break. Why is it so ok to criticize Barack Obama. In your post, you said that it was a "critical" article, but all I read was how he came into popularity. I know you support Hillary, but I feel like it's attack Barama time just because he has so much momentum. How many times did George Bush walk the halls of capitol hill? ok, bad example. but even bill clinton, he had NO experience, either. Governors are basically just figure heads. As for Barack, at least he really tried to learn and to gain viability. I'm not even for Obama and I have to admit that the piece is hardly critical of him. From an objective standpoint, at least he showed him to show a methodical and well-thought to approach to tackling tasks. Whether that was educating himself with the help of more experienced bipartisan senators or own. Yes, he may have not achieved much (as the article sets the expectation that most jr. senators don't) but it does portray him in trying hard in learning about the ways of Washington. I don't consider the piece hardly critical at all. I'm not not voting for him but I have to admit that at least he's attempted to work hard in learning his job, making alliances and seeking the guidance of seasoned (bipartisan) veterans and learning internal Washington politics.

Actually, reading the article made me *more* likely to vote for Obama. I think he comes across as pretty savvy.
