As the fifth season is set to debut later this month…
Showtime has announced that their very successful lesbionically delicious drama The L Word will end its run on the network next year.
By the time the last episode airs, the show will be one of the longest running programs in cable TV history with six seasons.
According to the net, fan input will play a part in wrapping up the series' story lines, noting the role that viewer input has played in the past.
Goodbye ladies and good run!

THANK GOD! Maybe now all of those talented actresses can move on to something that's actually half way decent. This show has been very successful…yes…but that doesn't mean it's quality…people tuned in for the sex. We all know it! The writing and most story lines were just a little short of GOD AWFUL. It's embarassing that such a team of talented women could produce such crap when they put their minds together. Maybe out their working on things as individuals they might put some good stuff out for us to see.
I'm glad for their success with the sex scenes that brought the viewership…the show sucked, good riddens…lets get well written drama's back on the air!!!

Well the only thing that makes me happy from all this "TLW ending" drama is that…
MY EARS ARE FINALLY TAKING A BREAK!! Because, i've got to say that i am a TLW fan, BUUUUUUUT i have always hated the main theme, that song is just sooooo anoying. Seriously… I hate it!

I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND!?!? This show has been so important to so many girls. They may think it's a non-realistic version of life, but it has empowered so many girls that I know. I'm going to miss it so bad. I thought Dana dying was bad. This is much worse.

The women on the show hate the theme too. If you've watched the podcasts, or listen to the dvd commentary… they sounds pretty embarassed and annoyed by it.
So many talented actresses on this show. I hope they all can succeed outside the lesbian world. Even though the storylines were sometimes implausable, the show had an all female cast that held their own. Plus as a lesbian, the sex scenes were our best alternative to fake screaming girl on girl porno

They should make a open contest to change the Main Theme. Is either the fans who are musicians to compose a original theme for the show or the fans who are not that close to their musical side but have the option to choose the main theme, something like that. It gives the chance to interact with the fans a little more… Or at least for the last time =(

I say this as a straight boy from freaking russia (you know how we love our lesbians we even made some up it the wherent really there with tatou) Thank God.The show quit good at the beginning but especially in the last season it is selling out to get more ratings and its turning into a cheesy unbelievable soap opera.Not because the girls are gorgeous (most lesbian or bisexual girls are know a really beautifull) but because the character development was going doing the drain plus the plotline was getting more unbelievable by the episode.Its fine to have a cheesy over the top serie about lesbians when you started out that way but if you want to write a series character drama ,where being lesbian is a big a part of the show as the actually lives these women live,then pulling all those ludicrious stunts (what the fuck was that sitdown shit or the whole trustfund daddy thing) to get more ratings is deadly.Its mercy killing people so please let it die a gracefull dead and bring another show about lesbians on the screen that is either playfull funny and farcical or a serieus character piece but make up or mind and stick to it please.

Even though I'm a gay boy, I love the L Word because I used to live in LA and I enjoy seeing some of the locations they use to film there. However, and maybe some of my luscious lesbo sisters agree, this season seems to be a little bit off. Just not as good as the last 4. Maybe it's time to call it a day? I would like to see more Helena!!!!! WTF happened to her character? She was fabulous! And her mother Peggy Peabody!!!! I do love Cybill Shepherd's injection into the show, but I just think the whole Jenny/movie thing is off track. And what's with that stupid bitch from Miami trying to swing her dick around and blackmail the other ladies? Kit is a strong black woman who could take that skinny bitch in a new york minute!!!
