Yes, these bands were popular back in the 90's but that does not mean that they are not popular now. Not to mention have completely revolutionized the music industry with making their music FREE to their fans and still making money. Radiohead are still an innovative and relevant band, and therefore perfect as a headliner. Their new album is fantastic and they will be touring the US, so why not swing into Chicago and do the festival? While I haven't listened to NIN in years, I know many people who do, so I think they will prove to be a successful choice as well.
Stick to commenting on stupid celebrities, since there you are usually spot-on; leave the music opinions to someone who knows what they are talking about!
Radiohead's "In Rainbows" was the best album of 2007 and I'll go ahead and say of 2008 as well. check it before you wreck it.

I am so sick of people going having that credo that "new is good". Well, obviously it isn't! I am a huge fan of Trent Reznor's work, and he is a wonderful artist…isn't that what music is about? Not about whether something is new, but whether it is good.
I will be going to this if rumors are true, and off the top of my head I can think of twenty people I know who would HAVE to be there. If there are five hundred other people like me who know 20 other people, and those 20 people…you get the point. My point is that NIN is still a huge deal to millions of people, so deal with it.
