Environment Terminator

Talk about a commute!

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose official place of work is in the Northern California city of Sacramento, reportedly spends nearly every night in his Los Angeles-area mansion.

The distance between the two cities is about 360 miles one way!

The governor uses his own money to pay for his Gulfstream flights, which price out at about $10,000 an hour.

Good thing he earned some major cash as a bodybuilder/actor.

But, the environmental costs are high. Flying TO AND FROM WORK is not very ecologically sound, as our Perezcious readers know!

The governor's staff says he purchases "carbon credits." Such credits are aimed at offsetting the greenhouse gases generated by his flights but do nothing about the particulates and smog-forming compounds released into the air.

The reason the Governator gives for the 'commute'? It's so he can spend time with his family. Admirable but can't the family move up to Sacramento?

Arnold recently made the cover of Newsweek for being 'green'. Looks a little hypocritical to us!

Looks like you should do some research on Al Gore. He makes Ah-nold look like a tree hugger. Al Gore is one of the worst polluters on Earth, but he was given a Nobel prize for his "environmental work." It's all political honey.

    Re: Julia

The problem is more that California put its capital in a city no intelligent and successful person would desire to live in (unless, say, it was their hometown).

So, either you can have a governor who is so limp and politically desperate he is willing to live in a lame town (Gray Davis), or a governor who relatively kicks ass (Ahnold), and commutes from Los Angeles.

Soooo.. I have never written one of these but Sacramento is not just some city in Northern California, it is the state capital. Perez I love you, but for someone so politically minded get it together.

Perez- I live in Sacramento, and it's a hellhole. He wouldn't want to live here! But it doesn't make sense that he's continuously polluting the planet!!

    he doesn't care at all.
    it's all a show.
he's cutting thousands of elementary school teachers to "fit" the budget.

HE COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT_ HE FAKES IT TO LOOK GOOD.
    PROTEST!!!

Oh silly Perez…. Sacramento isn't some random obscure "Northern California city", it's the CAPITOL of California! You know, the state better known for Hollywood, San Fran, and LA? It's kind of a big deal.

Oh and Schwarzenegger is a dousche.
