MTV had announced that they would be premiering a new music video from Britney Spears for Break The Ice last month.
They later recanted and no clip materialized.
Well, it seems like her record label is intent on trying to make the most of her flop of an album, Blackout.
While she focuses on getting healthy, her label is going to release the video WITHOUT Britney in it, The Sun is reporting.
The clip will feature an animated Britney (scene above).
You can do a lot more with a Spears that is actually cooperative!

I really hope the animation is part of the video and she is actually featured in it. I find it hard to believe she refuses to shoot a music video but is willing to guest star on a TV show.
The album is great and will be re-released, and its sold 2 million world-wide, and counting.

I think this is a healthier option for her mental status. Her mind is a bridge that has too much stress on it. One more task could cause the whole thing to collapse. I think the main focus for her, her family, and her record label should be to get her back to a healthier mental state so she can resume her career.

I don't know if this is a good idea. While animated videos have worked for other bands in the past (Gorillaz, Radiohead, etc) those artists didn't exactly have the same media attention documenting their mental instability the way Brit has. I think this just perpetuates the notion that she has fallen so low she needs a cartoon to do her videos, not because its a cool concept, but because she lacks the discipline to do her own videos. Hopefully it all works out, and the video is well received and all that jazz.
They can show a Super Hero Britney, a changed Britney….. What she will become. It's a proxy place-setting and could be fantab. But just don't say that Brit's got nothing behind it.

Well .. I gotta admit I was the type of person who used to hate on Miss. Britney Spears.. However, this past few months has been an absolute hell for her and I am actually feelign sympathetic. She has been in this buisness for so long, since such a young age. It is unfortunate that we all have things we would rather not share with the world.. but when your a celebrity the choice is not always yours. Britney has had her fair share of troubles.. but hopefully in the end she will be able to turn her life around in a positive way

Blackout was FAR from a flop — it was actually the first Britnet album I could (almost) listen to entirely. It just didn't get promoted for obvious reasons. All the press she received in 2007-08 was negative and unrelated to her album. This is what affected the sales — LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!!

I think it's a creative way to make the most of a bad situation. It's not like it's ground-breaking to have an animated music video, but it's better than nothing. Still, there's no substitution for the real Brit. Hopefully she'll use this time to get better and make a REAL comeback!
