MTV had announced that they would be premiering a new music video from Britney Spears for Break The Ice last month.
They later recanted and no clip materialized.
Well, it seems like her record label is intent on trying to make the most of her flop of an album, Blackout.
While she focuses on getting healthy, her label is going to release the video WITHOUT Britney in it, The Sun is reporting.
The clip will feature an animated Britney (scene above).
You can do a lot more with a Spears that is actually cooperative!

OMG! Okay 1 Britney's album is an amazing dance album and every song is truely so strong it could stand as a single and be on top of the charts! Secondly, I think it's so pointless for them to come out with an animated video for "break the ice"! I love the song…but now I'm totally gonna hate the video. They should just create a fake slide show of her or something! I'll be a dancer in the video! LOL
probably my favorite song on her new album. been listening to it for months. for some reason the concept of animation fits the song well. def gonna be a hit.

I think it's a good idea. She needs take a break and get herself together(which is what she is doing right now). Her album was very europop and in my opinion europop goes well with animation, too.

First of all… an album landing at #2 on the Billboard charts and winning best international album is NOT a FLOP. It's not the heights her others have reached, but you cant call an album a flop by comparing it to the previous albums from the artist- this is in the charts as a whole.
That said, no, I dont think an animated Britney video is anything but a desperate ploy by her label to keep pulling in money while she tries to deal with her life. If they had any respect they'd wait until she's feeling she's up to it and have her do it herself (though an animated/real britney video would be cool). People have really been looking forward to this video for a while now and I dont think halfassing a quick cartoon version of one is going to cut it. I know I'd much rather see the real britney, even if it takes a few more months of her getting things back together. She's doing much better it seems so why not?

Get real - "flop" doesn't always have to do with sales! She is unable to get out and promote or perform in support of the album at all - and this is the latest tragic turn in her career, a stupid video with a cartoon version of her in it. That is a FLOP in my eyes. Sorry!

the saddest thing is that BLACKOUT IS NOT A FLOP! it is an amazing album, prob Britney's best. unfortunately, without much fanfare and promotion from B-girl herself, no one is finding this out! part of britney's getting healthy phase should be owning up to her responsibilities…and her album is one of them. she owes it to her fans and herself. could you imagine what a wonderful world it would be if everyone you know was rocking out to blackout?!

Brit brit's fans seem to be in denial! "She'll be hot again. She's ll be great again". Hello! Do you notice that girlfriend has an album out and hasn't had anything to do with it. She didn't even write or produce this album. It was the work of other more talented producers and sonmgwritters. All she did was show up, sing and make a couple of not that great videos. Not to mention that disasterous performance at the VMA's, probably the worst performance in the show's history and you all don't seem to be getting that. She's worn out! She's 26 years old and she looks 35 and the state of California won't even let her see her kids. All I ever hear from her fans is "She's hot!". I never hear them talk about her talent. All britney knows how to do is dance around provacatively in very little clothing and you people act like she's freakin' legendary! Have you ever heard of Madonna or Janet Jackson? You know, those two ladies who she tries to be like? If you find her music fun and catchy that's fine, but don't make her out to be God's gift to pop music when most of her work is the result of other more skillful people!
First off, that cartoon britney doesn't even resemble her in the slightest. She looks way more grown up and has a bigger rack, plus the hair doesn't look oily and all to shambles. But as far as the idea goes, it would probably be better, because it's she does nothing for herself. I think its pretty and obvious by all the dance sessions Brits being done that she wants to make something of this album and that this is just Jive trying to pull some shitty coverup in case she messes up or they acccused of working her too hard right now. And btw Blackout is not a flop, it is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time and there is not one bad song on it so stop hating. Support Britney!!

I think the anime idea is wonderful! This way it shows that Britney's contribution to the video is the same that she did for "Blackout"….very little. "Blackout" sounds great thanks to producers, but I agree w/ many reviewers that her personal involvement to the album was very limited and the producers took it from there (oldish voice tracks, etc.). I am not a fan of Britney's, but the girl does need a break. I do hope that she recovers from all of the shit that's been happening to her……for her own sake and her boys.

Actually Britney's BLACKOUT CD went to Number 1 in 8 different Countries! It has also been certified Gold & Platinum in several others. It's received positive reviews as her best CD to date!
