The New Kelly Clarkson Album…..Sounds Interesting!

Contrary to what many might thing, we are not a Kelly Clarkson hater.
Au contraire!
We are a big fan of her voice and LOVE her album Breakaway.
The last one was a disaster, but we're holding out hopes that her next record won't disappoint as well.
And, from what we've read thus far, it has the potential to be quite good!
Kelly is working with super talented songwriter/performer/producer Ryan Tedder, the lead singer of OneRepublic.
Tedder, who co-wrote and produced Leona Lewis' international number one hit Bleeding Love, says that Clarkson's new songs will feature "big choruses" and "heavy drum programming".
In other words, she's moving away from the rock and back to the pop.
Amen!!!!!!!!
Ryan also revealed that the songs are influenced by nineties electro-rockers Garbage, while one song, a mid-tempo rock ballad, features an experimental bridge inspired by Mozart.

Perez I just have to disagree about "My December" I actually think it was a brilliant album that showed Kelly's darker side. I think she is a musical goddess and I can't wait for her new album!

My December is actually way too pop for me to be honest. I absolutely love it and think it was one of the best of 2007, it just didn't get the promotion it deserved by the fascist head of her record company. Kelly will never "cave" in to anyone, period. She is one of the best and most soulful vocalists on the planet, and will continue to succeed in her field because her integrity both artistically and personally are incomparable in today's music industry. 75% of the stuff on the top of the "pop" charts is crap, so who cares about being up there. MOST of the best musicians in this world will never see the top of that chart! So she's not a size 2, neither am I, or the very large majority of women in this world. Once again, not caving to the industry…or the haters. Kelly doesn't need a "comeback", she never left. She's touring nonstop all over the world to sold-out venues. Kelly Clarkson's here to stay, I assure you.
Kelly's good, give her credit. Sure she's no Christina Aguilera, but only like 3% of the human population can sing as good as Aguilera.

It's laughable to read that you wish she'd go "back to pop" when she hardly ever left and when she's been putting out really good material despite it not being commercial enough to be on a bubble gum TV ad. Thank God there are people out there who actually enjoy quality music as opposed to the bullshit crap people like you and Clive Davis and most radio stations promote gloriously. Clarkson's last album may not have sold gazillion millions of records but the songs are damn good songs. do you know what is even more exciting than pop music with a drum machine????? pop music without. drum machine's are for people can't play the drums or play music. why try to recreate the awesome sound of a real drum kit. i, personally, long for the day when I hear a "top forties" musician that isn't dumbing down their music by adding electronic drums or bass, or ….anything else.
I have met Kelly twice and she was very nice and down to earth. Someone here mentioned The Kelly Clarkson Express - God, her fans on there are mean! They've had a vendetta against Clay Aiken for years now. (Yes, I know everybody on here HATES Clay, too. - Don't start with me - He is also very nice, and they are friends!)

My December did not suck!! I thought it was a great rock album that was obliterated with unwarranted, negative press. God forbid an artist should produce the ART that the artist desires and is not just interested in cranking out bubble-gum, disco pop that will sell units. This is why the music industry is dying. It sold itself out to the Brits and the Paris of the world. I mean Paris - a pop singer? Give me a break. Go Kelly - make the music you want.
"My December" is a great album. RCA just didnt promote it, dumb butts. But im excited for new Kelly music. The album is slated for a 4th quarter release so thats exciting. A new Kelly album for Christmas. Anything she does is good, so no worries. Kelly Clarkson is the nest thing around these days. People need to open there eyes and ears.

Has anyone even bothered to LISTEN to the last album? It's probably her best yet. I like pop music as much as the next person, but c'mon, it was edgy. It seems to me like for the first time Kelly decided to stop being a sell-out and make her music the way she wanted to. I hope the next one is as good as the last.
My December was a really good album and the fact she took a risk just shows what a true artist she is. She has an amazing voice and she's a very versitile singer so it should be a really good album!

My December was a fantastic album just not as radio friendly as breakaway! its lyrics are so much better than breakway, its more mature and she also has better vocals on it. it should have sold more, clive davis let her down, the press made out like it was terrible so not many bought it, shame that people always listen to stupid comments. My december was fantastic so i cant wait for the next, go and buy my december people!

Her last album was a disappointment commercially, but I actually really liked it! It was different, and I enjoyed it immensely. I also think that if Clive Davis hadn't made such a big deal about it and basically told everyone they wouldn't like it, it would have done significantly better. He should have let her do her thing, and have a little trust in her. All the bad press really killed everyone's impression of the CD before it came out!
She should stick with the rock. Modern pop music needs to die and go the way of disco. Pop culture is making this country dumber by the day.
