The long-delayed John Lennon assassination movie, Chapter 27, featuring former hook-up partners Jared Leto and Lindsay Lohan is finally hitting US theaters on March 28th. Um, on limited screens.
The movie premiered at Sundance LAST January. It then went on to play on Russian TV and then straight to DVD in Finland and Greece.
Is there something wrong with it? Don't things usually come out on the big screen in the US before hitting TV and DVD internationally?

I really feel bad for LL. God, I'd be completely miserable too if I had to carry my alcohol around in water bottles. What normal 20-something girl doesn't do those things? I know I do. Every single day of my life. In fact, just last night I let a strange man take my picture so that I didn't have to pay my cab fare. It's basically the same thing when you think about it. If I had a nickel for every time an embarrassing picture or video of me black-out drunk has made it's way to the net, well i'd be about as rich as the girl whose boyfriend LL stole when she was in rehab who sold the story to the Enquirer, even though no one really cared–at all. It´s weird that the movie is now out in the US yet. I live in Sweden and I saw it on dvd like a month ago. It´s a good movie, Jared Letos performance is fantastic.
I saw the movie a few months ago (Sold in East Timor for one buck) and it's just horrible. No coherence. Lohan is seen about 5 times, has zero effect on the scenario and Leto's only "achievement" in the movie is to weight 20 kilos more. Bad acting, bad script, bad everything.
EVERYTHING is wrong about this movie. The deranged Lennon Killer did it to be famous, and now by making this (maybe even good) movie, they have fulfilled his wish. So simply for that reason I won't watch it.
I like Jared (a lot, acting and his music!) and have no opinion on LL, but the fact that they both decided to do this movie shows how they both made a very bad career decision. The cool thing would have been to decline creating a pedastal for the sick man whose name I choose to ignore.

to the film. What you see of her in the trailer is about all she's in it. No joke.
Jared Leto is the performer here. He gives a chilling and intense character
depth. The film does not glorify MDC in any way.In fact it attempts to portray
the 3 days prior to the assassination and his ultimate spin into insanity as he
stalks and waits for Lennon outside of the Dakota in NYC.
For people that complain that the movie was made. It's a human interest story
and PART of our American History like it or not. It will be researched and studied for generations to come. The continue to make movies about serial killers, assassins and murderers. Many of who ALSO desired atttention or to live in history and infamy. This is no different. If you aren't interested in the
subject, don't watch it. It is important to explore the dark side of humanity
as well as the good. The Yin Yang of human nature

It's emotionally disturbing and if you're a John Lennon fan, it will hit you like a ton of bricks. I hope it gets good reviews cause i think it's awesome

Chapter 27 was indeed at my local videostore in Finland. I was a bit surprised since I knew it had not been released yet in the States. Anyways, I saw the film and I think LL didn't suck in it! She's quite a good actor although in this film she pretty much played herself. Jared Leto gave a chilling performance as Mark Chapman. I do consider the movie a bit slow too. Almost to the point that it's boooooring! So I can't recommend it unless you're a huge Jared/Lennon/Chapman fan.
This is a terrible movie. Don't waste money on it (as if ya'll would). Only rent it if you have a year's membership to Netflix and even then it isn't worth it. Almost as bad as "I Know Who Killed Me".

I already have a copy of the movie, and i must say, its pretty boring and it really sucks. I cant imagine it even being in theaters, it looks like it should just go straight to DVD, or it should be an HBO special.
I don't think it was b/c the movie itself is bad at all… its just the subject matter and the way it glorifies john lennons murderer. There was so much backlash to the release cuz of pissed off Lennon fans that the studios listened and didn't release it.
