Instead of distancing themselves from her vitriol, Republicans in the state of Oklahoma are applauding congresswoman Sally Kern for saying such small-minded and hateful things like….gays are worse than terrorists.

Kern told reporters that her fellow Republicans in Oklahoma gave her a standing ovation on Monday.
And, she has vowed not to apologize for her hateful words.

I am from Oklahoma and I can proudly say I do not represent Sally Kern statements about homosexuality. I have several gay friends that I love very deeply and are the most loving and kind individuals I have ever met. Words hurt and I am deeply hurt by these comments made. In fact, the day I say her information published on your site, I quickly wrote her a letter addressing my concerns and the appalling statement she made. Although it may appear Oklahoma supports her actions, I know that people are outraged and offended. Man, this kills me - I've never commented on this site before, but this has pushed me to do it.
I'm from Oklahoma, born and raised, and I did not agree with one word that woman said. This is a Republican state (which is terribly unfortunate), and, for some reason, close minded conservatives buy in to this kind of stuff. But that does NOT mean that -everyone- in the state supports Kern. I was so angry after listening to the speech, that I blasted her in my e-mail I wrote her, and I followed that up by writing everyone in my family (who also agreed she disgraced this fine state, and sent similar letters).
Oklahoma is NOT a bad place - we have a very small population, and, as I said, most of the people here are close minded Republicans. Plus, we have the distinct misfortune of being represented by mega dumb-fucks. Don't blame all of us - I for sure did NOT vote for Kern (or any Republican, for that matter).
So, to make a long story short, please don't group all Oklahomans with this bitch - that is not only inaccurate, but highly offensive to the few liberals who live here.
