Angelina's plane is equipped with a plane parachute. This will deploy in an emergency and bring the plane and passengers back to terra firma.
It's not fool proof, though, and even when it works as advertised, it results in a very hard landing for the pilot and passengers (think back injuries) and it's murder on the plane itself.
Flying, even in this manner, is still safer than driving a car, so, mario, learn before you pipe up with more "perez" ignorance.

It's not an issue to fly pregnant up to your 30th week, and then it's just a precaution that you may go into labour 10 weeks early. Plus if you are having any other complications then your not allowed to fly anyway.

Why does everyone consider this so dangerous? I fly small planes. If you know nothing about the whole subject than you shouldn't be telling everyone its so dangerous. It's not. She holds a pilot certificate, is trained in the aircraft she's flying and the weather in that picture looks good. Oh and being pregnant does not mean you become an invalid for nine months. She's not flying in an airshow or anything.

the only risky thing about flying while you're pregnant is when you're bigger and you are sitting for too long and there is a risk of blood clots. or actually going into labor. this however is no more risky than a trip around the block in your car.

I concur with the majority here, and as a pilot I can tell you, she's just fine… there is nothing wrong with flying while you are pregnant. She's a fully trained pilot and knows what she's doing. Being pregnant doesn't make her stupid, her decision making and thought processes are just fine, leave the poor thing alone.

There are a lot of uneducated people on this site. #1 - You can fly up to 6-8 weeks before your due date when you are pregnant. Bottom line is she is far from that so she's totally fine. Pregnant women fly every day. #2 - Flying in general is safer than riding in a car. It just plain and simple statistics - thats not to say however that its necesarily safe to pilot your own small aircraft - but nevertheless statistics don't lie. I honestly thinks that she takes all her kids with her. Its the media that decided to use only pictures taken with Maddox to make it seem like she favors him over all the others, just to make the public mad. No one really published pictures of Jolie holding Shiloh at Chucky Cheese, and no one really used the ones of the family with Shiloh sking. There are many pictures of her with Shiloh they just aren't used as much as those of her with Maddox. Again just to feed the public some negative press about her and her children.
