The National Enquirer has the first photo of Patrick Swayze since news broke that he has the extremely fatal pancreatic cancer….
And he's fucking smoking!!!!!!!!!!
The photo, taken this Monday, shows a gaunt-looking Swayze at a small airport in northern California.
And HE'S SMOKING!!!!!!! While he's still getting treatment. This boggles our mind!
He is poisoning his body as he is trying to get better.
Maybe he's just resigned himself to the sad fact that no matter what he does, he will likely die in a few months????

It has been reported that Patrick had a disgusting THREE PACK A DAY cigarette habit.

Having had a few friends and family die from pancreatic cancer, the reality is that once you have been diagnosed, your time is limited. There is no treatment yet, there is not cure or help for this strain of cancer. Unfortunately sad but true. He will only have months, maybe weeks to live depending on when he was diagnosed. Don't pass judgement, let him die in peace.

None of us know what kind of stress/anxiety he may have in his life that would make him smoke that much for so long. I wonder if anyone on this website is battling with a terminal illness like pancreatic cancer right now. Have some dignity. If you knew you were going to die, and your way of trying to numb or tolerate the fear and anxiety was to smoke, you wouldn't want people throwing it in your face. It's sad for him that he developed a terrible and dangerous habit, but it's too late to criticize. Hopefully his situation will inspire someone to quit smoking now.
I had a friend who went through Breast Cancer and Chemotherapy and had recently lost her abusive husband to cancer…and she was a heavy smoker and her doctor told her not to stop smoking!

a relative of mine died of this cancer she was a smoker and when I saw her smoking while in treatment she said the doc told her there was no reason to stress her system with the shock of not smoking (she was a heavy smoker) and the reality was/is unless they catch this cancer early to operate than blast it with chemo, its pretty much a death sentence, it was unforgiving and over for her from start to finish in 9 months. God Bless him, let him enjoy whatever life may be left, smoking sucks, its bad, in regards to pancreatic cancer, most of the time its too late.

Pancreatic cancer has a dismal prognosis, life expectancy after diagnosis is usually no more than 1 year. The damage he's done from smoking has already been done. To expect him to quit smoking now (which is more addicting than heroin) is almost unfair. I agree with the post below, give him a break.

My dad died of colon cancer on Dec. 17 six months after he was diagnosed. He was a lifelong smoker. STOPPING smoking would not have made a lick of difference, NOT starting would have. Smoking is probably the only thing in his life that feels normal right now. Give the guy a break.

Not that anyone will read this…but my dad, who smoked three packs of Camel non-filters for 45+ years, got inoperable lung cancer. He went through chemo and radiation and beat the cancer…and continued to smoke while doing so…and his doctors had no problem with it because of the stress from the cancer.

OK i'm fighting the battle against leukemia right now, and I have to agree with Perez. I think its just mind boggling, how can you want to get better if you're poisoning yourself, and in public? If any of you have gone through chemo/radiation, you know it is BRUTAL, your body gets a real beating, so he needs to stop adding to the damage with smoking.
oh and p.s.- I know an elderly woman living with pancreatic cancer. She's been shoveling snow, and climbing trees! so it IS possible to live for a long time with pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst, and most terminal types of cancer. It is almost never successfully treated, and medication therapy is used to EXTEND the life.
Smoking cigarettes is probably not going to do much at this point. He already HAS cancer people. People in final stages of life are allowed to do what the hell they want.
Quitting smoking now might actually be a HUGE stressor on the body, compromising his immune system and making him sicker. Geez.
pancreatic cancer is fatal, there is no cure. this type of cancer kills pretty quickly even with all the treatment money can buy. if you had 2 years or two months left to live you would want to fill that time with things that give you pleasure even if it is smoking. quiting smoking now isn't going to change his prognosis. quitting smoking years ago may have as smoking increases your risk for all sorts of cancers and diseases.
