The song has 3 short verses and a bridge. The chorus is the title of the bloody song. He had a week to memorize it. Go away little girl. You're too gay to be an idol anyway.
AI is just a dumb karaoke contest anyway. Most of the music arrangements suck ass, hard. They took a bunch of fantastic Beatles songs and turned most of them into elevator music. Good Christ, the American public have no taste in music.

Big disappointment - he's been singing pro for how long and comes from a musician family — then claims he doesn't know the McCartney/Lennon songbook? WTF is that? I think his age is finally starting to come through. He did not do well last night….and for such a seasoned pro, I was disappointed. I will however give him the benefit of the doubt as he is not "perfect" and everyone is entitled to miss the mark at least once. He should continue on and be given another chance.

I can immediately tell what this boy's problem is, it's his parents who are obviously overbearing. Hence the bad song choice. That's also why he leaves out passages from songs that are not in tune with his parents' religion. This boy shouldn't win because he won't be able to cope with any added pressure. You guys - so he had some troubles remembering some of the lyrics… y'all have NO idea how stressful it can be to perform in front of that many people, in SUCH a high pressure situation. I feel like I have some concept of what he's going through because of my own experience in international violin competitions before critical audiences and judges, both in the concert hall and the blogosphere. There has been SO much buzz about how he's a shoo-in to win, and I can only imagine how much pressure that must put on him to perform his very best. So many factors could have contributed to his difficulties - but what cannot be argued is his incredible talent, musicianship, and star quality. He is a fantastic singer, and a great kid and a sure cut above many of the other singers on the show this season. Let's be kind in our comments about this young person with so much to offer - and look forward to his performance next week! Keep it up, David! DON'T BE DISCOURAGED!!!!!

I love David, but I will admit last nights performance was pretty terrible, and yes the whole forgetting the lyrics thing was bad. He was obviously nervous, I mean, everyone is putting sooooo much pressure on him, he's only human, of course he is bound to mess up.
I think if America gives him another shot he'll bring it back next week.
Archuleta was horrible last night. Messed up the lyrics, seemed barely into it, and lacked the passion of his previous performances. Easily his worst ever, and Simon said just that.
Still the one to beat though…
