Wow, this was a murder victim's family. They'd been attempting to get privacy to grieve all morning and this station and its representatives violated that privacy. This family isn't famous and are grieving. Racial slurs are wrong but so is the rampant disregard for privacy in this country, even in the face of a tragic and violent loss. Sickening.
People were too busy looking at the fight to listen to the story. The news reporter said they were already finished with their news piece and was packing their gear away when they were attacked. They waited for the news reporter to be left alone and was without assistance.
Her camera man tried to be reasonable in getting the women off while nobody else around did anything but form a circle.
She (the news crew) had every right to be there as long as they were not disrupting normal daily activities. The family was clearly upset that their son/brother/whoever brought disgrace to their family and took it out on the media. They were not smart enough to realize that another camera crew was filming this incident and as such, will be completely found guilty of assault.

My sister works at this news station, and I will personally back up that channel 7's reporters are nothing but professionals. Its just a tragedy that people like this still exist in my state. Exposure on national news like this is why my state has such a bad reputation as being racist. And as for why she was there. She was doing a story and they were not interviewing the family, they were doing an on spot of what i believe was where the murder happened.

For gods sake, the reporter was not at fault. Go to www.wyff.com, they did a report as well (they were there at the same time) and have better footage; they reported that the attack WAS racially motivated, the reporter was well within her rights (she was interviewing neighbors, not taping the house or the family at the time) and as the attackers crossed the street, one pulled off a jacket like she was going to fight no matter what.
Why on earth wouldn't they just call the cops instead?!

I would pay to see the FULL footage of this "attack". I don't condon this type of behavior, HOWEVER, if you look at the beginning of the footage the Reporter, aka "sister girl" is throwing a punch. Her lame camera man did very little to stop the "white trash" from putting a beat down on this nosy reporter.
How would you feel if you had a tragedy occurred in your family and some dim-witted reporter show up on trying to make you and your family their 5:00 news story.
Unfortunately, I have to side with the "white trash" on this. If more people put the beat-down on nosy reporters they will stay in the studio where they belong!
