their albums are terrific but their live show is unbeatable. everyone should see them if they get the chance! yes, I would love to keep my favorite bands to myself, but the state of the music industry won't change until we start recognizing and rewarding talented people who can write songs, sing, play, and perform live… and reject autotuned lip synched crap like Ashlee Simpson. thanks for supporting such a talented and hardworking band.
I am from NC as well. The Avett Brothers have been my favorite band for about three years now. They never disappoint and are pretty much all I listen to. Their lyrics speak to emotions and events that we have all experienced. If you have a chance to see them live it is a real treat.

My wife and her middle brother went to school with these guys (Mount Pleasant High School). Her brother got me into them and I absolutely love their sound.

I saw the Avett Bros. in Towson, MD last year- they are amazing performers and the melodies of their finely tuned songs always has a way of making me feel psyched. Definitely a fave and I can't wait for them to come back around!!

The Avett Brothers BLEW me away at Wakarusa (Lawrence, KS music festival) last summer. They were the very last band the very last night (4 days and nights of music) and closed that s*it down!!! I've seen them three times in less than a year. THEY ARE ON TOUR! Check them out!!!
I wish you would stop fucking giving your "music from the edge" picks, you may bring bands to the main stream but you also take some dignity from performing artists that have been around a bit and worked hard to develop a reputation as a "down home" live band … Q: How'd you get your big break? A: I was mentioned in passing by a rather large media queen who's other hobbies are giggling, tinkling, gravy-making, petting small dogs and occupying the spot on the top of many teeny boppers' shrines … Have you been in Tiger Beat? sorry, but what are you talking about? there is a texas alternative country music, but it sure as hell doesn't sound like that. How about Cross Canadian Ragweed??? Look into that. They are the front runners of that movement.

After Wilco, this is the best live show I've seen in years. They don't take themselves seriously, but don't think that they're not serious musicians. I hope that Scott and Seth can do for the banjo what Nels has done for the guitar.

I saw the Avett Bros. for the first time this past summer at Telluride Bluegrass Festival and I've been hooked ever since! YOU MUST SEE THESE GUYS LIVE to truly experience the goodness that is the Avett Bros. It is a rockin' show! You guys rule! (PS…they will be in Phoenix and Tucson March 28 & 29)

Forefront…. ha! Alt country is not a new movement by any measure. It's like me saying "Hey I saw Spank Rock this week at SXSW. They're breaking new ground with this 'hip-hop' music they've created."
