The staff did not take appropriate action? I highly doubt that. Had they not taken appropriate measures, the man would not have been arrested upon arrival. Re: Andrea – there aren't air marshals on every flight. they are on very few, and they are there for terrorism, not perverts. if this happened on my flights, as a female i would be completely grossed out. if the crew was all female i would probably ask a large male passenger or 2 to help me move the pervert to the back and then to help guard him until we got to the destination where the authorities would deal with his sick ass. since 9/11 passengers are usually more willing to help crew deal with messed up passengers and in cases like this i would probably get another passenger involved if i felt the pervert would possibly be threating to me or try to jizz on me. also, believe it or not, flight crew have to be very careful about how we treat passengers - EVEN SICK MFS LIKE THIS DUDE! we can get fired over a complaint from a customer, even if we don't do anything wrong. i would definitely have helped the female customer more, though, if the crew indeed did nothing. they should have at least told her that the authorities would be waiting for the man upon landing, so that could at least be some relief to her. also, side note, PLANES ARE FILTHY! Re: Andrea – on the air marshal thing, too, they don't reveal their identity unless there is a real certainty that the event is terrorism related. the reason being, a lot of times, terrorists will have someone create a disturbance or distraction so that the air marshals blow their cover, and then the REAL action goes down. i doubt this was the case here, but you never know anymore. any time you are on a plane you have to be prepared for the worst, or if you are a flight attendant, to act as a human shield for the pilots. i know a lot of flight attendants are bitchy, but cut them a break. people treat them like slaves and their real purpose is to be a human shield and give up their life if anything happens on the plane.
