her new song is the most teenagish whispery candycoated crap i've heard in a while, and the video is awful on so many levels from her cutsie faces and pouting to her horrid outfits. Mariah Carey is the greatest selling female artist of all time and people should start recognizing that her voice is like no other. Sometimes she may pick a bad outfit—but at least she has the talent to back it up. Mariah Carey is the sh*t and doesn't need synthsizers to make her sound good. We need more artists like Mariah!!!

If you look at the last album cover, you will notice a significant similarity. Maybe because this album is supposed to be The Emancipation Of Mimi Part II, just like she said it would be. Therefore, the same pose and same black background makes sense. But who cares about the album cover….her music is what counts.

I'm a HUGE fan of Mariah and think she's gotten into great shape these days. For being in her mid 30's she's taken great care of herself and skin. I am not crazy about the album cover but what she lacks in a good marketing and design team, she makes up for it with her voice. My first thoughts upon hearing Mariah Carey's new jazzy, hit radio jam (once my laughter subsided) were that it appears to have been written by a musically gifted trio including a gangster, a hooker, and a 13-year-old middle-schooler. Or quite possibly a 13-year-old middle school girl who runs a gang during recess and study hall and hooks on the weekends so she can afford that sweet special edition Hannah Montana trapper-keeper she's been longing for… and matching pencil set.
And now that I've seen the album cover, well… it all fits together like a Lisa Frank puzzle. Not only is she covering herself with the comforter Santa got her from Delia*s for Christmas, but for the title, she drew from her current surroundings… 8th grade algebra of course! But I would expect nothing less from someone who is about to turn 38 (yes I Googled it) and still wears crop-tops and jeans with the waistband cut off… and whose idea of accessorizing is to wear a belly-chain, a pair of large silver hoops, and top it off with a gaudy butterfly ring.
…the only thing I'm surprised about is that her name on the cover isn't in bubble letters.
