Amy Winehouse's publicist is blaming those cuts on her arm on her cat.
Come on, now!!!!
There is no way those are just "scratches" from an angry kitty.
People are not stupid. Don't lie! Just say "no comment."
Update: Amy's publicist, Chris Goodman, from the U.K.'s Outside Organisation, writes us with the following statement.
"Hi Perez,
"For the record, as Amy's spokesman, I did say no comment. It was another newspaper who reported they are cat's scratches.
Thanks."

my friend does the same thing he cuts himself and blames it on his cats. as soon as i get home (im out of state) im going to talk to him about it. amy winehouse needs help because she shouldnt do this to herself maybe some more heavy duty rehab?
The ones over her tattoo looks deliberate, but I have lots of cats. My arm has looked like that on several occasions. I currently have a scratch on my left forearm that runs from the top of my hand & stops right below my elbow. That was when I put one of the kittens inside before I went out & he did not want to be inside. I also get those when I "hand wrestle" with my cats. That's when they attack my hand & I grab the cat's face then gently shake it's head. It really could be just a badass cat. Too bad I can't post a picture of my arm.
My cat can scratch like that. For real!!!!!My cat is a mean mother fucker. Then again so is Amy's crack habit.
Actually those look just like the scratches I get from my cat when she's playing too rough. Cutters don't reach around and cut the sides of their arms either, and they definitely aren't deep enough. Way to spread more lies Perez.

I have cats and trust me they don't scratch biceps. They may scratch at hands a bit if you're playing with them and they're playing with you. They don't hold razors in their hands that cut large X's in biceps and forearms. I am throwing the bullshit flag on this explanation and believe me, I know.

Actually, it really looks like cat scratches… my cousin has a cat and sometimes they have a little accident that makes her arm look just like that!
I don't follow Ms. Whinehouse's music..don't really care for it. She's lying to the public to cover up the fact that she has mental issues and not only is she lying to the public but she's lying to herself as well. Its easy to blame the cat or somebody else for this type of cutting. But its a mental issue and she needs to get herself into some type of mental rehabilitation hospital. When it comes to love..if thats why she's cutting..its time to put everyone and everything aside and start loving herself..regardless if she loses her husband over it..if thats what she's afraid of. The same goes for anyone out there who is cutting themselves or mistreating themselves..you've got to love the unique person you are before loving someone else. Get help and start loving YOU. Just sayin..

When I first saw that pic, I thought they were cat scratches. Play fighting with my cat leaves the exact same kind of scratches. I still have scars going up my arms from it. Cutters tend to go a little deeper than what Amy has on her arm.

actually i have a cat too and i play alote with my cat and i got pretty much the same scrtaches!! so i do believe it cause when they stick there nails into ur skin it can look pretty bad!!
When my cat was a kitten he scratched the shit out of my hands and wrists. So much in fact I even joked I had junkie hands… so you never know…some of those little buggers are vicious!
I've had cats my whole life. When I did get scratched, you get more than one straight scratch. She should have several parallel scratches. These marks are CLASSIC self hurtung marks! Move over lawyers… PR people are the new dwellers of the scummy bottom!

Sorry, not cat scratches. Unless the cat had a uni-claw, there would be more grouped scratches. Secondly, the angle of all the scratches indicates that they are self inflicted.

I have 3 cats, and have had cats as pets all my life. So I've probably had or have seen every type of cat scratch there is. And there is NO WAY those are cat scratches!!
That's the most ridiculous excuse ever, and very sad. Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all than to give an excuse that's obviously a lie. I hope she gets help.
I've got three adult cats and sometimes when I horse around with them I get accidently "cut" up in a few places. But it NEVER looks like the precise RAZOR cuts on Wino's arm. She's definitely doing it to herself.
Actually, those scratches COULD very well be from a cat. I was attacked by a cat a few years ago and had scratches EXACTLY like those all over my arm. I still have scars from them today.

I used to be a hardcore self-injurer and those aren't cat scratches..the direction of the scratches gives that away, and the height and the neatness of them. Totally self-inflicted but they are just scratches…pretty superficial. But that is how it starts, she needs to get help. Good Luck Wino!

Those scratches are more than a shout out to the world. Usually when someone cuts it's in neat little rows, a way to control something in the life of someone who feels like they've lost all control. But when a person cuts randomly and all over the place, they're no longer concerned about control cause they've lost all hope. I strongly urge her family to try and do the same thing as Britney's family with the conservatorship…if they have laws like that in England. Because she's obviously not ready to get herself help…looks to me from the way the cuts are that Amy doesn't believe she deserves it. And that's what she's gotta work on first. Knowing her self worth. I hope you find yourself Amy. You're not alone, there are MILLIONS out there with similar problems and feelings. Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones and find your inner strength. If you've got the bravery to draw blood and expose it to the world, you've got the balls to get better.
For the record but not in Amy's defense I've had cat scratches like that from my cat……I rough him up like I'm playing with a dog and I've had MASSIVE scratches up my arms which attached weird looks
She better get that cat checked out. My husband was told he had cancer but after several weeks and surgery, turned out to be cat scratch fever (CSF). The only time I had heard of Cat Scratch Fever was the Ted Nugent song. I thought the song was about snorting something. We bought a kitten from a pet store that was a carrier of CSF. First sign of something wrong was swollen lymph nodes.

This is from an angry cat who used both its front claws and back claws. Nobody digs holes into their skin then gently scrapes out from there. As an animal groomer, I have to tell you that those cuts DO look like cat scratches. Not saying they are but, most people hide where they cut.

okay shes a crazy bitch no lie but i have a crazy ass cat that has done the same thing to my arm and it may look bad but they aren't deep so i would believe that just cuz of my experiences, but shes still crazy.
My kitten scratches me like that all the time when we play. Try startling a cat when you're holding it and see how sctatched-up you get in it's panic to escape. Plus the cuts are not deep enough to satisfy any discerning emo-cutter.

Theres no way those cuts were made by a cat. A cat will not scratch in perfectly straight lines like that. Plus, a cat has 5 nails those are single straight lines. Obviously from a razor or knife.
I was an animal groomer and a former cutter. No way in fucking hell would I let a cat do that much damage to my arm from wrist to arm. A cat is looking to hurt you and get away. If a cat is fucking you up like that, you let it run away and chill out. ESPECIALLY IF IT IS YOUR OWN ANIMAL! And where it bunches up, she probably used a serrated knife or a razor and applied uneven pressure (even a pin could've done that). And the cuts on the top of her arm are a lot deeper than you think. I'd buy the cat thing, maybe, if I didn't know her history simply because I wouldn't want to fuck up my tats if I were still cutting. But honestly, I agree with perez here. And it's pretty freakin painful to cuts yourself, if you don't do it often you're not going to do it deeply.
Come on…I have had a cat do that to me before…cat straches are bad, and if you keep playing with a cat and aggrivate it, you can get tons of scrathes. If she was cutting, do you think she would wear a tank?

hey, im not sure if the cuts are hers but in her defence i have a siemese cat whos excessively agressive and i have actual scares from where he goes completly crazy my mom has too, the cats a horror when he gets mad and thoes scratches are nothing compared to what ive had in the past…yeah i know kill the cat right…nah hes ok when hes mellow ….just dont piss him off when hes hungry lol….hopefully it is the cat and shes not hurting herself….looking on the positive

Re: fizzidle – When I was attacked by a cat it jumped up, sank its teeth into my hand and clawed up my arm with its front and back claws and wouldn't let go. It took several minutes of fighting and shaking to finally send the cat flying. My arm looked just like hers. I had many people, including my co-workers, asking if I was cutting myself.

Actually you should see my arms at the moment. My kitten goes nuts sometimes (especially on the catnip) and I look like I've been cutting myself. Her scratches seem pretty uniform to be from a crazy kitty, but it's still possible.
Like others, I used to do this and started when I was a young girl. Kids look at these pictures and get ideas. I love most everything you put up, but these pics encourage dangerous behavior. Please think about it.
to be fair, I have a cat and he scratched the hell out of both my roommates and my arms. A lady even stopped my roommate on the bus and gave her a suicide help business card. No one will believe they are cat scratches, but it's totally possible.

I'm a former cutter myself and those look like razor blade cuts to me. Give me a break. I used the cat excuse before. And I realize that most cutters hide their cuts, as I did. However, we must remember that Amy is also a drug addict and probably so out of it she's not concerned about her cutting habits being seen. Also, sometimes the cutting gets so bad you can't hide it anymore because you're doing it too impulsively.

That's right, the cat scratched her with one claw in one direction and then with the other claw in the other direction, resulting in X like scratch marks, wow, how unsual. I hate it when celebrities put themselves in the public eye, then complain about it, and insult people's intelligence with stupid "explanations", how about just not saying anything and going about your business?
I can actually say that I agree with her. Although my cat is lovable, she clawed me so bad once, I had to go to the emergency room. It depends on the cat and of course the size. I have a domestic fishing cat. They have big fangs and they don't realize that their claws, as well as, teeth can be deadly looking.

Drugs are a coping mechanism for her.

Why do people say she was better being plumper and with no tattoos?? Her tattoos are sassy and fly and they're part of her and her mystique!! I love you, Amy! The nipple tattoo wasn't covered over, they put a bikini top over when she does public TV appearences. I wish she or the cat wouldn't scratch the tatts bc they expensive n she rocks them, don't eff them up!
