I'm from the Toronto area.. and if anything we're proud of the French side to Canadian culture.. maybe just a little bitter at some of the American lack of interest in geography (and common now I don't mean all Americans…). Ok…first off there are French speaking ppl all over Canada not just Quebec. Northern Ontario has entire French speaking villages….Maybe as Canadians we should learn a little more about our history. So you shouldn't throw stones….

i'm american and my family speaks french. there are french-speaking people all around the world, and although they are not the majority, there are french-speaking people in toronto as well. it is virtually impossible to accurately say that everone in a given place speaks only one language. that would be like saying everyone in a given place is straight, or everyone is white. it simply isn't true. think before you attack, people.
She might have done it on purpose - she's screamingly funny (SCTV and all that) - the face is classic for her as a joke.

Wow, some of you assholes give Canada a bad rep. In case you all haven't noticed, the majority of our road signs and everything else in this country is BILINGUAL! And to say only Quebec speaks french makes you look ignorant. Come to Ottawa, THE NATION'S CAPITAL and see that mostly everyone is bilingual and can speak Français in Ontario.

Who's French? O'Hara….call me crazy but it sounds more like Irish to me. I know her mom could be French. I'm no officiando, but I am Canadian and I'm very familiar with some of her work (SCTV, Home Alone, etc.) and I've never heard anything about her being French.
As an aside, French is probably the language you're least likely to hear in Toronto. There's pretty much everything else.
