Yesterday we mentioned that Madonna's new album, Hard Candy, was #18 on the Amazon best sellers list for CDs, and it isn't even out ’til April 29th.
Well, today the album is at #2!!!!
So awesome!
Mimi managed to move up as well. She's currently at #40, but still a far distance from her Madjesty.
E=MC2 is out BEFORE Madonna's record (on April 15th), so we're a bit worried about her sales. Hey, at least she's on the list now. Yesterday, Mariah wasn't even on Amazon's top 100!

Mariah Carey is the undisputed BEST SELLING Female Artist Worldwide of the SoundScan era and since Soundscan is the only sure way of tracking sales and we cant really or accurately tell how many albums were sold by any artist prior to the Soundscan era (before 1990) it is SAFE to say Mariah is the best selling female artist OF ALL TIME once all her album and singles sales are taken into account. There is no comparison between Mariah and Madonna except comparing album sales and Mariah has clearly beaten Madonna (although I like some of Madge's music too) and in this case Mariah is clearly the WINNER. Therefore, it's very credible to suggest that she will not approach the sales figures of the superior "Confessions". If you're reading the blogs, only about half of the people even like her lead single, "4 Minutes"….not a good sign!! "Hung Up" was adored by the vast majority, even cracking the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100.
