It's rude and offensive to discuss such matters in general company. If you consider his age, you might appreciate that in his generation, manners were more refined. Being an Oregonian I can assure you that this quote will hold a LOT of weight in the eyes of Oregon voters. Oregon by and large is proud of its gay-friendly status and has a history of being a leader in passing progressive legislature and providing benefits and services to all sexual minorities. I would not be surprised if this comment leads to quite a bit of trouble for Mr. George.
