I will always love R.E.M., They are my guys…Michael Stipe is a genius…I am just a bit upset that they are not coming any where near me this tour & we cannot travel to see them this time…Very sad…The USA needs to show them more love, like the Europeans do…I cannot wait for the new album to 'drop'…If you have the chance to go see them in person…Do so, you won't be sorry…You can buy the single from the new album now at Itunes or Rhapsody…Check it out…It rocks…Just a personal note…My Husband and I went to see REM on our first date…It was magic for life…

How funny! I saw the Police in concert in the early 80's. REM, a new band at the time, opened for them. Something went awry with some of the band's equiptment and Michael Stipe did an impromtu accapella version of, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to fill the silence. It was brilliant! I will never forget it. I always have and always will love REM. Keep making music boys, the world is sorely in need of your words and undying talent.

Especially in small southern rural communities, like the ones that surround the city that I live in. On a larger, more cosmopolitan level, I would like to think that the phenomenon, of a distinct momentous event of "coming out", will extinguish itself as times change and hopefully become more civilized.

I don't know where exactly Decatur is, #185, but don't most people round up to the nearest large city (especially as a reference point) when they say where they are from. If one moved around alot growing up, one could "be" from many places. The city of my birth, and the city where I went to college, figure in GREATLY when I tell people where I am "from".
