The Smashing Pumpkins are suing Virgin Records for selling them out to the corporate whores without their permission.
A lawsuit filed on behalf of the band states, "(they) worked hard for over two decades to accumulate a considerable amount of goodwill in the eyes of the public," and that Virgin's use of the band in a 'Pepsi Stuff' promotion with Amazon.com and Pepsi Co. threatens their reputation for "artistic integrity."
The lawsuit demands that Virgin pay with the profits earned in the promotion and asks for an injunction against using the Pumpkins' name or music in the future.
Does anyone even care about the Smashing Pumpkins anymore???

Just so you all know, this is just a ploy Fat-Ass uses to get his site more traffic. He knows that the Pumpkins fan pages will report on this blog and all the readers will head here to comment. He did the same thing a couple of weeks ago with Radiohead and NIN and that blog had over a thousand comments. Not so clever, Perez. Shithead.
I care..they are amazing..ive loved them since i was young, and they are still genius after taking an 8 year break and 2 new members. Not many bands can withstand that. Corgan can be a little annoying, but its his vison and no one should have to compramise themselves.

I went to his book signing and i saw men in their 40's crying after meeting him. Billy's music obviously was a big part of their lives.
I listen to them all the time but I still get goose bumps when I hear them on the radio.

Having recently seen the smashin pumpkins live i can honestly say that the first half of the gig is ace and they play all the old classics… the second half is absolute rubbish with Billy spending most of his time doing wanky guitar solos. The pumpkins have a *huge* following - lots of people still care about them, even if it isn't the majority.
They put on a hell of a show!!!!!!!! Met billy last year in the muir woods could not have been a nicer guy! He has one of the largest ranges of music around.

i love SP but this lawsuit is bullshit. i got 5 "free" MP3s from amazon already using codes from pepsi caps. big fucking deal. there are a million MP3s available. it's not all about SM. just because some tool who doesn't already own their CDs can get their MP3s using pepsi codes doesn't make me think any less of SM. what does it matter if i am paying my own money to amazon or using codes as part of a pepsi promotion? billy apparently has too much free time on his hands. he should be off somewhere counting his money or rambling on his blog.
