This is so sad to me. Even the people at the table are saying that only the "gay community" is outraged. I've never seen so many ignorant people in my life. How is she in office throwing around "facts" and "evidence" that she has no idea about?! If she is brave enough to say all this rubbish on TV, to other people, I can't imagine what she says around friends, family and her church crew.
I think the bible also says that the woman should serve man and is inferior (obviously not verbatim) but isn't that why women couldn't vote when the country was "founded on Christian values"? If she is so set on spreading her faith, maybe she should lead by example and shut her mouth (Timothy 2:11-12)!
There are many different things from many different groups who are fucking up America, and yes you gays are a part of it too. Though you try to blame everybody but yourselves. You even blamed Ronald Regan for causing your own AIDS epidemic when it was your personal degenerate lifestyle that caused it.

And, since this IS and HAS been done - what are those people then? And don't tell me you can't because altering of skin pigment and changing in eye and nose formations is done all the time. But, when that occurs, what are they then?
And, I am just curious - do you consider white (Caucasian) a race? That's always left out in these kinds of debates. Isn't it an oxymoron that a pastor is openly gay? HIS interpretation of the Bible(to suit his own needs) says homosexuality is fine. If it is so fine, then why do 99% of other religious figures say the Bible codemns homosexuality. Why is this homosexual's version so different than the others. I think many more people agree partially with Sally Kern than are willing to say. I don't think gays are worse than terrorists, but I do think it is wrong. I don't think homosexuality is a conscious choice, but I also don't think you are born that way.

Yes, I know we were founded on religious principles, largely based on the seeds sewn by those who fled religious persecution themselves so they could worship as they wished. That's why the founding fathers established a constitution and government that explicitely stated a separation of the two. And quite frankly, while you see a recent trend to eradicate religious principles from our cultures, I see the opposite. It's really only been in the past 25 years or so where religious zealots have had such influence over government, policy, and most unfortunately, the Supreme Court. Listen, we can agree to disagree. But our dialogue is indicative of a larger issue: people can't pay their hospital bills, they're losing their homes left and right, we're bogged down in a quagmire of a war with no end in sight, and this politician and many like her are focusing attention on gays. Gays are not the problem. To each his own. What about kids without health insurance? What about poverty in the richest country on earth? Wouldn't our energies be better spent focusing on those kinds of things than who people are sleeping with in the privacy of their own homes?

My mother had similar views… when I explained to her it wasn't a choice… she believed me and completely changed her outlook. People can't change their sexual orientation. If they do, they are then A-Sexual (without sexuality), no matter what they say or are lead to believe. I knew a guy once who claimed to 'now be straight' who was never found to be with a female - ever. Months later, I then ran into him at a gay club I would go to in college and wondered why he was there since 'he wasn't gay anymore'. And, he laughed and said he finally came to terms with who he was.
And, he spent loads of money on these 'ex-gay conversion camps' which are such scams and such horrible, nasty places. I can't imagine how it must be to go to one or even see one.
A person who is a minority who alters who they are, regardless if it's their physical appearence or sexuality, is only trying to appease a majority somehow and 'fit in' with people who are oppressing them or making them feel bad. These people, sadly don't like who they are and it's society who makes them feel ashamed of it. So they 'change' or at least attempt which is always met with psychological and emotional problems down the line.

I'm sorry Perez but i think she has a couple valid points. The bible does state very clearly that homosexuality is wrong…it is a sin. And what if all the men were all of a sudden "born" gay….how could we as a human race continue?? There is a natural order to life…a man and woman….a male and a female…this is the way it is for every species on this planet. How is it that now in this time that all of a sudden thousand upon thousands of people are born gay when this was not the case 100 years ago?
I am not a hater but I am a Christian and everything that homosexuality represents is a sin and is not good for our nation.
This does not mean that gay or lesbain people should be treated with hate or as less then any other american citizen but it does mean that somewhere along the lines something terrible has happened in our society to teach our youth that it's ok to fulfill fantasies that are wrong. People are afraid that gays want to overturn millions of years of evolutionary thinking, cultures, religions, politics, by declaring that man and woman are the ultimate. But if you bring religion into this do you actually believe that the Catholic church would allow this heresy? Much less the billions of Muslims?

I was a longtime member of Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Ok. Mrs. Kern's husband is the Pastor. I stopped attending Olivet after Pastor Kern started preaching HATE!! These are HUGE HOMOPHOBES. The last sermon I attended started with the Pastor asking the congregation to BOYCOTT Disney for their decision to recognize domestic partners!! I was ashamed to be apart of the Church I had attended for more than 12 years!! And yes, her son is gay!!
