Re: HSF – Again. I'm not an expert on Reagan's presidency - but HIV and AIDS has killed many more people than just homosexuals - so to look at it from one point of view is somewhat short-sided.
There have been people who have died from various forms of cancer, heart disease, heart attack, drug use, war, homicide….not just gays and HIV/AIDS. I'm not negating the problem - but this thread speaks to Ms Kern's opinions of the gay lifestyle and to let her tell it she would say that HIV/AIDS is a punishment by God to those who engage in an abominable/sinful lifestyle. Many staunch Christians and others believe that. I can't say that I do.
But this thread wasn't about my opinion - it was about her right to have hers. I appreciate the information you took the time to post - I learned some things today that I was not aware of, but we must be able to have dialogue LIKE THIS as a people and a society if we are going to prosper and move forward. We don't have to agree - but if we can't talk about it - we're doomed. You shed some light on things for me today - believe it or not - I thank you for that.
May I make a suggestion? Instead of spending time arguing with all these folks that are close minded ignoramus', why not email Sally Kern and tell her that her statements do not reflect those of the "average american" that's what I did-remember if you email-take the high road -no name calling or threatening-that is what she wants-it helps her build a case . You haven't read a thing I've posted today. You lump me in with Sally Kern and say that I'm "blowing it off". I don't believe the same as her. I have said that repeatedly. I tried to provide some insight as to why she believes what she believes. I tried to say that although I don't believe what she believes she can say it, and it was refreshing in a way to see someone not apologize for their beliefs because they aren't popular - but instead to stand their ground - no matter how misguided I might think she is.
Also, I don't have to like or accept the gay lifestyle. I happen to not care. Gay is gay and so what. If that's you - be you. I prefer women. So what. That's me. But gay, lesbian, black, white, jewish, Muslim - ONE EARTH. We don't have to agree with one another - we have to be tolerant of one another. I don't have to agree with you religious beliefs, just accept your right to believe it and not hate or judge you for it.
That's all I was trying to say…and some of you start ganging up and labeling…all the things you say you hate for people to do to you.
So does anyone have stats on how many people have died from HIV, and compared that to the 911 and other terrorist attacks? That would be interesting data.

I hear what you're saying and I agree with you about people standing their ground, but discrimination is wrong and should not be encouraged, but never the less, let them speak out. I agree with you on that point. However, You CAN speak out against groups of people, but when you do, be cautioned that cultures never look on that paticular viewpoint too kindly in the future. The vast majority of people who feel homosexuality is abnormal, state their view in a kind, rational manor.
On the other hand, the people who, while preaching "love" and "tolerance", manage to also throw in several "fuck's, "cunts", "bitches" towards anyone with a view other than their own.
Lots and lots of degrading words for Jesus and Christianity, too.
Even if you consider it an archaic, backward belief, why would such bile come out of your mouths? After all: it's just a silly, old fashioned religion, right?

Also, if one of us misspells a word or uses poor grammar why do you feel that is such a big deal? By the way, isn't the correct word inappropriate instead of "in appropriate"? I don't believe that there is a space between the the "n" and the "a". Also, even in the computer spell check "Jesus" is capitalized so you should have said….Sweet Jesus instead of "sweet jesus". Someone as particular as you are about the use of correct spelling would surely thank someone for pointing that out to you. You are welcome.
This site also allows me to see just how much prayer is needed. I know you'll hate it but I will pray for you. It is what Christ asks me to do, to love my enemies and praying for you is the only way, besides speaking the truth, that I can love people like you.

Re: question? – This particular issue is not gossip…..As far as the questionable ads and some of the pictures you are right, there are some that are pornographic. I see as much while watching a TV commercial or going to the mall or walking through a public school. I am a sinner, as we all are but pornography has never been my problem. I actually have a very filthy mouth. I was raised in a Godless home and worked in a factory for 20 years. I have been exposed to it all of my life. I have always said that profanity was my second language. I try very hard to control my tongue. I try very hard to obey God's Word. Sometimes I'm not very successful at it either but it is still my goal. He loves me even if I fail. That's the great thing about God. He doesn't' expect us to be perfect. He loves us just the way we are he just isn't content to leave us that way.
