"You cannot really compare Madonna's song with Mariah's because….
-If you look at the complete iTunes singles chart, Madonna is in there 3 times with the same song. All together, she would be much higher than #10. Mariah is only on there once.
- Carey's song has been on the radio for more than a month while Madonna's only a week. It is expected that Touch My Body will have a strong first week and go down while Madonna's will gain airplay and rise on iTunes.
-Madonna's was available Tuesday while Mariah's Monday.
- Madonna's song is #1 on Amazon downloads.
- Also, look at the complete album chart on iTunes, Madonna is also there twice (#3, #22) with the same album, which counted as one, would probably take her higher than #3."

Multiple releases like Madonna's are a con to rip off fans for as much money as possible. What Perez' "industry expert" said was only partly true, and a cursory glance at iTunes will show you that.
What the "expert" implied with regard to the album is correct, though incomplete. While there are, indeed, two different versions of 'Hard Candy' available to purchase, the pre-sale of both comes with a download of "4 Minutes." As a result, the purchase is not only eligible for the iTunes album chart, but also the singles chart.
This is why Madonna is on the singles chart with the same song three times - The "industry expert" is hoping Perez is dumb enough (as he seems to be) to accept artificial inflation of the song's chart success. But there is no direct proof that people not buying the pre-sale and getting "4 Minutes" as a bonus would turn around and buy the single itself. They're just as likely to purchase the album with or without the bonus early download than they are to buy the same song twice. It's disingenuous.
Not to take anything away from these old hags Madonna and Mariah, who are both apparently still capable of convincing ther frothing masses to buy their hastily produced clatter by name recognition alone. But still - total con job. Suckers.

Actually, yes TMB has been out for a month, however, it was just released for digital Itunes download on Monday 3/24/08, therefore it has only been eligible for the ITunes chart as of Monday 3/24/08.
With that said TMB shot to the # 1 spot on Itunes after only being released for download for 2 full days. If you look at the Itunes # 1 song right now You will see Touch My Body by Mariah Carey.
I don't know why this site keeps purporting this so called feud between these 2 artists. The fact of the matter is both women are wildly successful, have been in the industry for many years, and are not in a battle with each other regardless of the charts. It is insane to report any such thing! Why cant we be happy that women are having success in the music industry!
