Hey Mary, I've seen Sum41 live twice (both times at festivals I would NEVER pay to see this shit in and of itself) and they do suck live. Like completely suck. Sum 41 is actually an awesome band, although I do admit that without Dave they don't sound the same and their old stuff was way better. Just because people hate Avril they shouldn't hate Sum 41, at least they write their own music.

It was SUM 41. Obviously not Simple Plan, because they've been in Europe the past week and Pierre Bouvier CAN sing live and that band can play their instruments properly. I have to add that Sum 41's recent UK tour went very well and apparently they were really good live and they didn't get bad reviews, so perhaps Deryck had throat problems or something…

I went and saw them at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario on the 19th, and had a hell of a good time, but maybe it's because I like all genres of music.
BUT, I'll give you one thing: Deryck Whibley is a troll, no doubt.

But they have talent and they write badass songs.

its actually pretty standard practice to use pitch correction. you can't un-invent something, we've become so used to hearing pitch perfect voices so as soon as you hear someone without one it sounds bad. listen to anything before the 90s and its all pretty badly out of tune by todays standards.

I agree with chris and trixie. This is so not scandalous. Lots of bands do this live ALL THE TIME, and I mean real bands, not just popstars. A lot of people would be very surprised at all the trickery that goes on at live shows, if they're surprised by this.
