On a warm day the peeps in Japan can now reach for a cucumber flavored soda!
Pepsi Ice Cucumber hit stores in the land of the rising sun this week.
We want to try it!
We've enjoyed cucumber infused water at this spa we went to. We're imagining a sugary, bubbly version of the spa water. Yumm. And maybe a little bit gross!
Hey Pepsi…want us to be your guest in Japan? Wink wink!

I was in Tokyo the week before it's release & they had ads in the train stations for it.
We'll probably never get it. They had some crazy (and good) drinks in Japan that I've been trying to buy online. Damn terrorists importing liquids ruin everything.

I live in Japan and it's been around for over a year actually. Last summer it sold out in 7 days with waits at 7-11's all around and they were letting you buy only 2 at a time. It's actually pretty good!
That press release is a year old. Pepsi pulled this from the shelves over a year ago! Look for the videos of people tasting it on You Tube!

I work for Pepsi and the concept behind this beverage is quite simple: Coca-Cola (our #1 competitor) has the majority of market share in other countries. Pepsi is expanding their global notariety by creating drinks that are customized for different cultures. With the amount of fresh food and Sushi consumption in Japan, adding cucumber is a remarkable way for our company to put their culture in a bottle. Make sense? I'd love to try it.

I live in a huge urban asian community in Boston, this cuke soda is in every store, (not by pepsi though). Theres a prickly looking fruit one too. They're not bad. And only like 75 cents a can. Cheeper than a pepsi or coke. (go figure cause its coming from vietnam…not altanta like coke)

This soda came out LAST YEAR here in Japan where I have been residing for the last 7 years. It is not very good and doesnt have such a 'cucumber; taste as you might expect. Is this celebrity news? There are a whole lotta other funky food products in Japan (like green tea and fruit flavored Kit Kats) but that is not what this website is about is it?
They came out w/ this last year! It was a HUGE seller. I used to live in Okinawa, and they like this gross stuff. They have this drink called SWEAT and it is this milky white crap that tastes like SWEAT but it is the number one selling drink there. OLD NEWS PEREZ!!!!!!!!! AGAIN

It tasted horrible. It was like trying to drink watered-down cucumber and melon perfume. Blegh!

yeah this came out during summer and it was a big deal cause pepsi said it would never make that product again…hmmm…i loved it, it has a japanese soft drink taste, something not many americans would understand too much i dont think. I would buy it almost everyday! i should have stocked and sold some on ebay! oh and japan would loooove you perez, most of their tv shows involve funny people doing random things. hit me up if you ever make it this way!

Actually, Pepsi Ice Cucumber was available in Japan in the summer of 2007. It has already been and gone.
Well if you love that… you should try my favorite summer cocktail…
a Cucumber martini… it is so fucking delicious!!!!
-take a slice of cucumber (without the peel) and crush it at the bottom of the shaker
- add 1/2 a crushed lime
fill shaker with ice
- add 2 shots of vodka
- add 1 shot of lemon sour mix
shake and pour into a matini glass with a small cucumber piece garnish…
DELICIOUS!!!!

Yes, it is surprisingly good and really sweet. Not really cucumbery. Japanese didn't like it too well because it was so sweet, but I think it will do well in the USA if they change the name.
