In Memoriam

The beautiful and talented Selena's life was cut tragically short thirteen years ago today at the too tender age of 23.

She had so much life ahead of her!

Thankfully, her music lives on. And THIS is one of our favorite Selena songs.

R.I.P.

    Re: Just Me
Selena, rest her soul, was a talented woman who is still missed.
    BUT
Whatever her family is a bunch of fuckwads.
BUT;;;;;; The only nice person is her mother.

HER DAD IS A HOMOPHOBIC RACIST IGNORANT INFELIZ BIGGOT WHO WILL ALWAYS USE PEOPLE TO MAKE MONEY- shit look at that huge Selena-Vive concert he was behind: bet yall didn't even know he made a lot off that.
AND ALSO, MISS JLO WASN'T EVEN FUCKING THERE CAUSE SHE BIT THE HAND THAT MADE HER KNOWN CAUSE NOBODY GAVE A FUCK ABOUT HER BEFORE THE SELENA MOVIE. Her brother AB is a washed up gangster wannabe with no respect to anyone and just like the rest of them creates his own drama and makes sure that he always comes out lookin like the VICTIM so ppl will feel sorry for him.
Vive SELENA, who was down to earth and the epitome of what a star SHOULD be: True to talent and true to herself.

ps… Hey Perez: why didn't you do any coverage of that bus accident that Emilio recently had? It had a huge impact on the tejano community as well. did you know that him and selena had duets together?

LOL… AMERICAN people are sooooo racist… Omg!! They have to understand that theres a place for everyone in the world, thinking like that just makes the devil smile… Change your mind for Gods sake, we are all part of God…

BTW, Selena was born in the United States, in Texas. She was very talented and an amazing person and thats all about. Don´t be soooo immature!!!! Those comments only makes me laugh. She was very famous when she was alive, but all her songs were in Spanish… She was going to try in the United States with an English album, but unfortunately she was murdered. She became a leyend after that… If you haven´t heard of her, you are an ignorant and probably a racist too.

    RIP Selena.

why does everyone always have to argue about stupid shit on here. All Perez did remind everyone that Selena was a wonderful singer and that she will never be forgotten. As im reading some other post, people are talking about how her parents are to blame, how stupid mexicans are and so forth. Just shut up!! Have a heart!!

I'm glad to see that you're a Selena fan Perez. She was such a genuine person that it's good to see that she really captured all sorts of people, from the cynics to the overly trusting. Good job on remembering her.

Selena, we Love you Always:) Thank you Perez for posting this:)!!!!!! There is always a smile in my heart when I think of her because she gave Love to everyone who came into contact with her and I still pray for her, looking forward to seeing her again one Day.
I was a fan since I first heard her and her music still lives today in its own right for what it is-Love. A beautiful person and singer. Her death made her a legend for all the Gifts she was Granted and Gave to everyone else.
We will always remember you, my love.
Please, to everyone else who may not have known her and/or liked her for whatever their reasons, she is dead and God has already Judged her. Respect her by silence of the negative.
Also, JLo should not be mentioned with her in any way. She doesn't deserve it for there is no comparison in the least. Selena was an Artist in her own right and should be remembered so Always.

    213

Selena was starting to cross over into American music. She was born and raised in Texas. English was her first language. The ironic thing is in this video she thanks her opening act, Emilio Naviara. Right now Emilio is fighting for his life at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX from a brain injury. He was in a awful accident in Houston on Easter Sunday.

  14. Tsk Tsk says – reply to this

    214

Hey you racist fuckheads, I suppose one can't expect any better than the offspring of the thieving "pilgrims" who have tried to build an empire by stealing land from the Indians and yes, the Mexicans. As if such antecedents weren't enough, you're also living under some delusion about your "whiteness" - maybe you need a lesson in science to make you understand once and for all that your white color is merely the result of less melanin, not a carte blanche (yeah, pun intended) to rule over the world. Maybe if your ancestors hadn't been thieves, you might have been the ones serving the Mexicans.

Perez! I can't thank you enough for posting this on a huge idol to the latino community! I am born and raised in San Antonio, TX (neighbor to Corpus Christi her hometown) and I can still remember the day she was taken from us. I can't believe its been 13 years already! Her death was devastating to everyone here in San Antonio. She was a regular here…and when you saw her she treated you like a normal person and NEVER once let her fame go to her head. She was a down to earth person…and never forgot where she came from. If she was still here with us she would have gone above and beyond in everything she put her heart into! Thank you again for putting this on here…I love you even more Perezito!!! Besos Grande!!!!

I have heard the details of Selena's tragedy, but I had never heard Selena sing before. After hearing this, it brought tears to my eyes literally. She always was and always will remain an angel. I have always looked up to her since I discovered her music when I was 10. She has touched my life and given me hope and faith when I most desprately needed it. I like to believe that we're all reborn, but someone as special as her cannot live on through one spirit. I believe Selena lives on, with a little bit of her spirit living through each and every one of us who loved her and continue to keep her memory alive. Thank you Perez for remembering this remarkable woman. She will never be forgotten. =)

Selena was the queen of Tejano music. On this sad anniversary, let us not forget another great Tejano great who is fighting for his life at this very moment. Emilio Navaira has been in a coma since last week after a horrible bus accident in Houston. Keep Emilio in your prayers!!!

Selena and Emilio were the queen and king of Tejano. It was awesome to see them perform together. I loved their duet, "Tu Robaste Mi Corazon."

Pray that we don't lose another Tejano legend early.

    Descansa en paz, Selena.

Thanks P for posting this!! I love the fact that you are bicultural. RIP Selena..youtube "missing my baby".

NOBODY knew JLo before this movie and well…it sucked, as much as i love Selena..it sucked. Blame the Director!!! In Tx, Cali & NY she was well known outside the latin community..give the girl some credit. Back then latin artists had to fight really hard to be taken serious and she was ALL AMERICAN at that and fought twice as hard!! With no disrespect, She accomplished a lot more in her life by age 23 than most accomplished artists today did at that age. Even the lady who played her in the film!!!
