In Touch Weekly is reporting that the singer was hospitalized over the weekend due to a kidney infection.
“She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever,” a friend of the family confirmed.
Jessica was kept over the weekend for observations and is expected to be released Tuesday morning.
“She is doing fine, but she is ready to get out of there,” added the friend.
And although Jessica’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo wanted to be by her side, he had prior commitments in Dallas.

It's amazing how stupid people are about human anatomy. The kidney and bladder are two different organs, so a bladder and kidney infection aren't the same thing. Both can be infected, or just one. While both are part of the urinary system, a kidney infection is normally much more serious than a bladder infection. One is seldom hospitalized with a bladder infection, but it wouldn't be unusual with a kidney infection.
A woman doesn't have to be a skank to develop a bladder infection. They can occur with no relationship to sexual intercourse. Or monogamous women can get a bladder infection after frequent intercourse; hence the name "honeymoon cystitis." BTW, men get these infections also, but the female anatomy makes them more common because of the shorter urethra in a female.

A kidney infection can be life threatening. sometimes a super dose of antibiotics must be given. My mom and MIL almost died from them because they had no idea they had one-just that they didn't feel too great. It's got nothing to do with being dirty. Female anatomy makes us much more susceptible to bladder infections as a rule-and even those sometimes we don't know about. Kidney infections happen for many reasons - among them taking bubble baths. Sometimes you do even need to be hospitalized if it's gone beyond a simple infection. I had to go inpatient after giving birth to my son….which had nothing to do with being dirty - whatsoever. In my case, I was simply too busy with him to listen to my body tell me that I was sick; instead just thinking it was b/c of having just had a baby. I'm sure those that consider it being due to being unclean are men — the only ones who could not possibly understand how susceptible the female anatomy is compared to a man's.
