David Letterman's show last night not only featured Walnuts' high-larious comedy routine, but also a Top 10 list in which Thomas Beatie, the transgender man who is now 23 weeks pregnant, was labeled an "androgynous freak show."
Letterman attempts to explain Beatie's situation using a cutting motion: "He had the thing."

I disagree with Letterman's comments but I can't believe you are upset for someone making comments when you make the previous post last night about a transgendered individual with the intent for readers to mock that individual.

This is revolutionary how many of you would be brave enought to even attempt something like this. We need to see outside of gender roles and understand that man and women are just persona's most people display in their everyday life. I mean, some fears that I read here about the baby's health are simply inaccurate and false if you consider this person has decided to stop taking male hormones months before in order to get pregnant and in order NOT to screw the baby's health.
That's just one example.

OK i am very much open-minded. But this not only steps across the line but jumps and swims a 100 miles over it. Imagine what the child is going to go through. I don't think once that this couple has ever thought about that. We live in a very cruel society. The world is not going to change. The reality is there will always be hate. Letterman has always been known for his blunt form of comedy. This is definitely a very weird situation, particularly to a baby boomer like Letterman. Thomas Beadie has put himself into the spotlight by going on tv, so I think he's fair game, as is any other public figure.
Avril Lavigne is a public figure and some of the things Perez says about her are MUCH worse! No matter how obnoxious she is, I'm sure Perez's statements make her feel even worse than Thomas Beatie feels - Thomas HAD to know he was going to face the late night hosts when he decided to go public with his story.
I understand the LGBT cause is one Perez feels strongly about, but ya can't be cruel to a young girl who you obviously dislike for some reason (and I'm no Avril fan - I don't even know what she sounds like!), then get indignant when folks make comedic statements about someone is part of a cause you are behind!
I'm from the Pacific NW, which is where Thomas is from, and we're quite used to unusual, eccentric folks and treat them the same as everyone else. I just hope the Baby is OK, it seems like the baby will be fine, but with all that he has put his body through I just hope he carries to term. i have a lot of female friends who haven't taken male hormones for years and they have a rough enough time.
