More than 1,000 people were at the Oklahoma Capitol on Tuesday for a rally to support Gay-basher state Rep. Sally Kern.
Satan Kern, as you may recall, is the crazy republican who was recorded making anti-gay remarks, decided not to apologize for it, and even has a gay son!
According to Satan Kerns, homosexuals are a greater threat than terrorists!
People were on site with "We Stand With Sally Kern," signs.
That's crazy! One thousand people supporting her is still 999 too many!

Seriously - I understand you are pissed and with just cause - but to assume that all OKlahomans carry that same opinion or that there's "something in the water" is just ignorant. 1000 people for the entire state - come on - that's an EXTREMELY small percentage. Report things better, don't rush to judgement and DON'T generalize an entire state based on the rantings of a rep and 1000 people.

I personally don't care for homos. The vast majority of gay men are worse than your worst whining, gossiping, bitchy woman. I'm not from Oklahoma but I go to college here. Oklahoma City is actually a pretty progressive city compared to surrounding states. I bet you could find 1,000 people in any decent sized city in America that would rally around a comment like that. Including everyone in the state in a comment like that is pretty offensive, especially for those of use who are open minded. That would be like saying everyone in Chicago believes what Reverend Wright said. Just because of where Oklahoma is located doesn't mean you should continue using stereotypes like speaking about inbreeding. Don't fight hate with hate.

However, you cannot allow a few bad eggs to affect your opinion of an entire state of people. Tulsa, Oklahoma has a very large and vibrant gay community. We're proud and Oklahoma is a wonderful state. Yes there are extremists…but those types exist everywhere. I live in Tulsa and there has been a counter-movement and statements signed by many of our state leaders that condemns her statements. I don't experience any homophobia in my reality here in Tulsa and it is just not a part of the normal culture here in Oklahoma. Unfortunately I think that in any state in the Midwest, 1000 people would show up to such a rally and that's because we're in the Bible belt and therefore among a large population of idiot religious fanatics. Some religions, once considered cults, are now on equal footing with the other "big ones" when there is no theological basis or even proof. But we have become so soft and weak, we cannot offend someone else's feelings because they believe something else, even if it's wrong.

She speaks the truth and gays resent it. The vast majorities of societies have hated gays and their forbidden status is codified in Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Buddhism forbids use of the anus or mouth for sex and the Lotus Sutra forbids gays from being priests. So anti gay sentiments predate civilization and will continue. Maybe the great religions are onto something.

The Jesse Kern you claim is gay and her son has no relation to her. That picture you posted was taken from the 1980's of a man who happen to have the same name as Sally Kern's son when in reality, the real Jesse Kern who is her son was 12 years old when that picture was taken. Either you did not watch the video of her interview (which you should have since you posted it) or you still want people to believe in something false. Again, I have nothing against gays. Your battle is with Sally Kern, not with her son. Please double check your facts before posting anything as you know how hate crimes can affect others. There was over a 1000 protesting at the state capital wanting to kick her out the week the comments were made public but for some strange reason, media didn't pick up on it. I am an Oklahoman and most of the time, quite proud of that, but she takes the prize for ignorance and hate.

It's the bible belt and there are crazy close minded conservatives all over here. The main thing to realize is most of the state is not like this. It's all of the people coming from the hick towns who don't have a clue about anything. Everyone from Oklahoma City and the towns that surround it and everyone from Tulsa and the towns that surround it are much more open minded and informed. That's not to say the preceding don't have the close minded people, but generally there are a lot less closed minded people. Most of the state is very against her, it's just these radical Republicans that make news all the time that make us look bad.
