Canadian April Lavigne stunned concertgoers at her Montreal show on Wednesday night and boy oh boy…some Perezious readers are quite pissed off at the pop tart.
Why????
She offended the proud Montrealites because she doesn't know her Canadian geography.
Quick geography refresher for us non-Canadians before we go on… Montreal is a city in the Canadian province of Quebec.
During last night's concert, April declared, "I love you Montreal, I'm so happy to be back home…in ONTARIO (another province!), CANADA!
If she was American we're sure Montreal would be a little forgiving. But April is Canadian!

I hate Avril just as much as the next person (really, never could stand her from the beginning), but… Montreal is just across the river from Ottawa, which is the capital Ontario. She could have easily been staying in Ontario, which may be the reason behind the slip. But also, since she is Canadian, she should have realized what a huge faux pas she made since there is such a rivalry between the two cities/provinces.
Also, avril is the french word for April. So quit calling Perez an idiot for "messing up" her name. All you're doing is proving that he has more knowledge of foreign languages than you do.

Clearly the hick town of Napanee, Ontario that Avril is from doesn't teach geography or french in school. I've driven by there, it is litterally a hole in Ontario. Because of people like you who threaten to seperate in the same manner as a child who throws a tantrum when he doesn't get what he wants. With such childish behaviour, it is not surprising to see companies and investors avoid your province. The result: lower quality of life, less money and a grim future.
BTW I'm not a frustrated anglo who cannot speak French and who finds a hobby in bashing my homeland and the Frenchies who inhabit it. I was educated in French from elementary school to graduate school. I decided to not put up with the politics of Quebec anymore and I've made the decision to move before it becomes too late.

To everyone who replied to my comment, should I remember you that we lost the referendum by less than 1%? it was 49.42 "Yes" for separation and 50.58% "No", and it has been proven since that the Canadian government CHEATED to prevent us from separating (remember the sponsorship scandal, etc. hmmmm?). The Prime Minister from that time, Jean Chrétien even admitted recently that if we had won he would have called in the army to prevent us from separating, talk about being fair game… And to the one who said that we get all our money from Ontario, we give more than we receive to the poor pathetic Maritime provinces who can't subsist by themselves , and with our hydroelectricity and other resources and creativity we would easily survive without the rest of Canada, even beter, about 25% of the population of canada is in Québec, we have everything we need to form a great independent society. And calling us frogs (which is quite cute, really, we don't hate being called that) and other names, it just shows how much you people don't like us and you have no reason for wanting us to stay in the country except for taking advantage of us.
