Canadian April Lavigne stunned concertgoers at her Montreal show on Wednesday night and boy oh boy…some Perezious readers are quite pissed off at the pop tart.
Why????
She offended the proud Montrealites because she doesn't know her Canadian geography.
Quick geography refresher for us non-Canadians before we go on… Montreal is a city in the Canadian province of Quebec.
During last night's concert, April declared, "I love you Montreal, I'm so happy to be back home…in ONTARIO (another province!), CANADA!
If she was American we're sure Montreal would be a little forgiving. But April is Canadian!

The American equivalent to April's dufus statement this evening would be something like, "I love you New York City! I'm so happy to be back home in Massachusetts!"

The number one reason they want to separate from Canada is on immigration. I have spoken to many separatist and they clearly are ignorant and raciest…..I'm talking from experience. if Quebec were to separate there would be an exodus of people and companies who wants to invest in an unstable country. Okay… seriously. Whoever was saying how hard it is to live here because of the separatism, what are you talking about? It doesn't affect my day to day life here at all. I don't pay more for anything, and the only english schools I've seen close down were from a lack of students, so they combined it with another one. I go to an english school. I just think the situation doesn't need to be blown out of proportion.

People keep says "Avril NOT April" or whatever, but Avril IS April in FRENCH. And honestly, I didn't expect her to even know that Montreal was in Quebec. I mean she doesn't even live in Canada anymore, if the only time she ever comes back "home" during tours, then I don't expect that much geographical wise.
First I wanna say that Avril (or April) is an asshole, she said ON PURPOSE that Montréal is in Ontario, and that's by far worse than saying New York is in Massachussets cuz I've never heard of Massachussets wanting to separate form the USA…
A lot of ignorant canadians here seem to think Québec has no ressources… in fact Québec is much richer than the average of Canada and only Alberta and maybe Ontario is richer than us. One of the few reasons Québec wants to separate is because we would be richer if we leave Canada than if we stay. We have a lot of ressources in Québec, hydroelectricity, wood, and most importantly there's a lot of computer software and high tech companies in Montréal (Ubisoft is an example), Montréal is like the silicon valley of Canada, also Québec is pretty good in the medical and research domain and we also get a lot of cash from tourism.

First off I was at the show in Montreal on Tuesday and not to sound stupid, I guess I was really excited and overjoyed.. I DIDN'T hear her mistake! I must agree, that was a pretty bad mistake. I adore Avril to death but I won't lie!! Well although I didn't catch her mistake people didn't seem too pissed off about it cause the concert was a hit anyway. dude, how would Québec suddenly lose land once they get separated? that's a non-sense. Canada is made with 10 provinces plus some territories you can divide Canada, but Québec is a whole and you can't divide it in some parts.
