Father, daughter have child together
A SOUTH Australian father and daughter have revealed they are a couple, and have had a child together.
John and Jenny Deaves reunited 30 years after Mr Deaves separated from Jenny's mother.
Jenny was 31 and just two weeks after meeting, father and daughter had sex.
"John and I are in this relationship as consenting adults," Mrs Deaves told the Nine Network's 60 Minutes tonight.
"We are just asking for a little bit of respect and understanding."
Their nine-month-old daughter Celeste, shown on TV, appears fit and healthy.
Mrs Deaves said soon after reuniting with her father she began to see him as a man first and her father second.
"I was looking at him, sort of going, oh, he's not too bad," she said.
"Like you might look at a man across the bar at a nightclub."
Mrs Deaves brought two children, Samantha and Alex, into the relationship after splitting from her former partner.
Mr Deaves admitted that he "initially" thought having sex with his daughter was wrong.
"Emotions take over, as people no doubt realise, there are times during your life where emotions do rule the heart, it rules the head," he said.
"I knew it was illegal, of course I knew it was illegal but you know, so what."
Mrs Deaves said the physical relationship with her father was like "a sexual relationship with any other man".
For Mr Deaves the sexual relationship was "absolutely fantastic".
A South Australian police media spokesman said "the couple is being monitored".

I would just like to say in defense of the couple, that who are we to judge and decide who you are and are not allowed to be in love with. Although i myself find this disturbing and extremely illegal i can not help but think that it was only a few years ago that gay and lesbian marriages were also illegal and many were disgusted and greatly offended by them. I believe that if there is not defects with the child and they are happy who are we as a society that believes in free will, to tell this couple that they should not be together because it is wrong. They are both of legal age and are consenting adults who can decide what they want wether society approuves or not. I must say i will not condone such an act….it is disgusting and repulsive…..but i must also contend that i have experienced such "weird" feeling before. I have a half brother i lived with when i was a toddler…..we separated and never had any relationship or connection for so many years. I think that this shows that you cannot always trust your emotions. Sometimes a person will have attraction (or fall in love with) a child, a relative, someone of the same gender. We can all agree that an adult having romantic feelings for a child is ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Therefore, sometimes a persons feelings are just plain wrong. Now we have to decide where to draw the line. Is this just plain wrong even if they are consenting adults? I think so, but now we need to draw some lines in the sand. HOW much deviant sexual attraction is moral? Is any of it moral?
And if it's immoral, (as in the case with children and maybe other cases too), THEN WE CAN'T ALLOW IT TO CONTINUE. In my opinion they should be ostracized and given mandatory therapy.
