And, it looks like she totally lipsynched (once more) her performance of Touch My Body.
Maybe it's just something Mimi does in Europe??? That's one of the theories lambs have been telling us.
We kinda expect more from Mariah, though.

She also lipsynched on the Friday Night Project performance of her song and it was obvious all the way through.
She isn't lip synching the whole song! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
okay, mariah ruined her voice from years of singing those really high pitched notes. She can still manage to hit those high notes, but when singing regular lyrics her voice is raspy and dead and not a good voice at all. In the recording studio she gets a million tries to sing each line right. they pick the best of each line from the millions of takes they do. That is why her cd sounds like she is as good as she ever was. Mariah kiled her voice, hence the need for ppl to bring out throat spray and water inbetween each song (when she is acutally singing). When she is not singing, like she is not in this video or the other, she doesnt need the spray. mariah used to be amazing, but she killed her vocal cords and now shes managing to stay in the business by lip synching live.

It seems to me she is lipsyncing to a pre-recorded live track, if you listen to this track, plus the other live performances from Saturday Night Live and German Idol its the same exact track, same inflections, same "breaths". Alot of artist who say they never lipsync are recording "live"versions to lipsync to, and have the mic on in certain places.

i used to work in the entertainment industry in london, and there are no "live" performances on tv over there. People in the studio audience will hear the live singing, but when shown on tv, it is always dubbed over.
so? in Spanish language tv shows they all lipsync on TV, its not by choice they are have to. its only for TV shows, then in concert they actually play. i don't see the big deal. its TV, its not like you are paying big bucks to see them live, then its a waste of money and not fair, but on tv i don't think its a big deal.

Mariah is definitely using some backing vocals to assist her, but she is not 100% lipsyncing a la Ashlee Simpson, Britney Spears. Mariah has proven her vocal ability, so if she feels the need to use it, so what. She's probably performing a lot with her new album coming up and doesn't want to lose her voice. Plus, some shows in the UK force performers to lipsync (CD:UK, TOTP, etc.) I dont think she is lipsyncing at all on the first one.

omg. shes soooo NOT lipsynching. shes singing w/ a backing track, which she doesnt do often. the backing track (like most performers) has vocals and the vocals have reverb n depth to it, which makes it sound more CD like. and she cracks durin the climax of the song…so thats not lipsynchin. she always sings better wen she has a backing track…i would say (since i've done some performing before) its because you're able to hear the singing and so you can get your pitch just right.
